A bang for your buck.
I was looking for a server provider in the Dallas/Chicago region to host my servers. I saw some positive posts on WebHost talk, so I shoot them an email asking questions about their services, pricing, and multi-homed connections that would provide little latency to my players in these areas. I was worried at first about their technical support staff, but after dealing with several issues and network problems. I can say these guys know their stuff. Every time we have questions about pricing or promotions, we email sales and always get answers in all my questions. A few minor issues here and there, but we usually get updates on what happened.
We got our first server at Psychz in 2020, and they have been our sole provider since. After few months of signup, we slowly migrated all our machines to them. The move has saved us a lot of money. These guys are 24/7/365, so my mates and I, each time we have issues, can feel safe knowing that we will always get someone to help us with our issues.
A hidden gem among 100+ server providers. A true hosting provider that manages their own data center, hardware, network. Fantastic performance, excellent features for server management. They offered a 7-day trial and we were super impressed with the results. Great network speeds on the 10gbps port and price are hard to believe. Easy choice for us when comparing with other service providers. Support response is quick for simple issues and they are able to deliver things on time. If you got a custom request, they will work with you. We are happy so far.
Been using Psychz for about a year. Using them for a dedicated server in their Ashburn location. Overall, satisfied with the level of service and support. Ticket responses are quick and so far zero downtime. Support is quick to help out when getting stuck even on the weekends. Compared to other big providers, they offer the best bang for your buck. Good hardware and good network. If you feel comfortable managing your harware, psychz is the best option out there.
I have been a colocation customer with Psychz at their Ashburn, VA location since October of 2020.
In February of 2021, I switched to a full cabinet and my experience has been horrible. I have experienced the following:
- random outages
- poorly mitigated DDoS attacks
- a technician once "bumped" my out-of-band link causing it to go down. It took them two hours to discover and solve this issue
- consistent ping spikes that took them over a month to acknowledge, and were never fully resolved
Their customer support is incompetent. It took over 100 emails back and forth before the ping problem was finally acknowledged, which they blamed on a variety of issues, but settled on it being a configuration issue. They claimed they "fixed" the issue but the ping problems still occurred. Prior to this, they would do nothing but ask for traceroutes. The traceroutes provided to them clearly showed an issue with Psychz, but they would either a) blame it on my hardware or b) continue to ask for more traceroutes.
After dealing with the poor network for over two months we finally moved to a different provider in Ashburn and have had zero issues.
I would not recommend Psychz for colocation due to their poor network and terrible support.
