SimDif 2 Review [2024]: A Free Plan, but Outdated Features

Mark Holden Written by: Mark Holden

SimDif 2 is a user-friendly website builder that’s been in the market for more than 10 years, but is highly outdated in its capabilities.

Based in Thailand, SimDif 2 is a user-friendly website builder created by Simple Different Co. Ltd. It also offers web hosting and domain registration with its builder plans. All its hosting servers are in France.

The SimDif 2 website has a very basic layout and is slightly limited in information. However, the website is available in more than 15 languages.

The builder itself is available in more than 30 languages. The currency of the plans are displayed depending on the location you access the website from.

Features and Ease of Use

SimDif 2 gives you a choice of a little over 10 themes to choose from for your website. However, the theme designs are quite outdated. Even though everything in the themes (colors, fonts, shapes, etc.) is customizable, the options available of design changes doesn’t make much of a difference, in terms of creativity.

The editing mechanism is also outdated. Instead of true drag-and-drop functionality, there are a limited number of positions that you can move your content to.

On the upside, all the themes are responsive. This means they adjust automatically to fit on any display (mobile, tablet, laptop, etc.).

All plans offered by SimDif 2 come with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to improve the position of your website on search engines, such as Google, making it easy for potential customers to find. Through the dashboard of your website, you can easily keep track of the traffic of your visitors – and with the higher value plans, you get Google analytics.

With SimDif 2 you can easily integrate all your social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) directly in your website. With the highest plan you can also integrate PayPal for all your commercial operations.

All plans allow you to create a simple contact form on your website, and the highest plan allows you to also create a customizable contact form.

Pricing and Support

There are three price plans offered by SimDif 2: Starter, Smart, and Pro. The Starter plan is completely free (not a free trial). It comes with most of the basic features including a free SimDif 2 domain (not a custom domain), SEO, the ability to create up to seven pages in your site, visitor stats, etc.

The Starter plan is funded by ads and so if you want to remove them from your website, you’ll have to upgrade to a Smart or Pro plan.

As previously mentioned, the prices on the SimDif 2 website are displayed depending on where you access the website from. However, it’s a little confusing. SimDif 2 created an index called FairDif that adjusts the currency and prices to adapt to the cost of living of the country you’ve accessed the SimDif 2 website from.

The SimDif 2 website itself doesn’t have a Knowledgebase. However, when you register, you can access a help section from within your dashboard. Unfortunately, the guides and tutorials are quite limited.

To reach out to customer support, you can use the email contact form. I sent all my questions through it, and despite the stated 24-hour response time, I actually received a reply within an hour, which was quite impressive.

SimDif REVIEW: BOTTOM LINE

Even though SimDif 2 is not difficult to use, it’s extremely outdated. It requires a whole new wardrobe of themes and a sleeker looking interface. I strongly recommend having a look at our list of the best website builders for better options.

Pros:
  • Responsive customer support
  • Responsive themes
  • Free plan
  • FairDif (affordable prices for different countries around the world)

Cons:
  • Outdated themes
  • Limited features
