Founded in 2008, Heymo is a sub-brand of the Swedish company Hemsida24. In addition to offering a user-friendly website builder, it offers website hosting and domain registration.
The Heymo website is very sleek and interactive, but it’s entirely in Swedish. Nevertheless, you’ll find it easy to browse, if you use your browser’s translation tool.
The user interface of the builder is available in multiple languages (e.g., English, Arabic, Swedish, French, Spanish, Romanian, etc.). However, the interface for developers is only available in Swedish.
Features and Ease of Use
Using the Heymo drag-and-drop website builder is simple, with no special skills required. That’s why it’s more tailored for novices or small to medium businesses.
You start by creating an account and selecting a design that you like (a tutorial video will appear to give you some tips). After that, you can start building your pages, changing colors and fonts, and so on.
Heymo is packed with features and tools. There’s a huge image library with more than 300,000 images to choose from, animations, picture blocks, lots of font styles, social media icons, forms, maps, symbol library, search engine optimization (SEO), and so much more.
With the undo functionality, you can easily reverse one or more steps. You can also add your HTML code using the HTML block to customize your website or add a third-party service.
Heymo also provides you with secure hosting and HTTPS to secure your website. Plus, the password protected pages feature lets you restrict certain pages and create a password, so only certain visitors will be able to access those pages or website.
On the other hand, Heymo doesn’t offer emails for free, so you’ll need to purchase a G-Suite package to get emails.
Another downside to Heymo is that it only offers 15 templates, which is very limited compared to other website builders in its tier like Wix.
Pricing and Support
Heymo offers two different plans – a free plan, called Dream, and a paid plan called Drive. The free plan lasts for 30 days and then is automatically terminated. In other words, it’s a 30-day free trial.
The Dream plan comes with limited features. However, like the Drive plan, it comes with unlimited pages and storage, among other basic features.
Heymo’s prices (with or without discounts) are slightly expensive, given the limited number of plans it offers.
Unlike most website builders, Heymo offers only one communication channel to contact customer support: live chat, which is only available on weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM.
I had a couple of questions regarding the free plan, so I jumped on the live chat. At first, a robot greeted me and asked for some information and my question. After a short while, I was transferred to a human who addressed all of my questions, although not immediately.
