ZZZ.com.ua offers shared, VPS, and dedicated hosting plans at prices that are appealing if you’re looking to spend as little as possible. It even has a free plan. However, knowing that most free services come with limitations, I was definitely curious about what this Ukrainian service provider’s free hosting really offers.

When I signed up for a free ZZZ.com.ua hosting plan, I immediately found out it was only valid for a week. It’s essentially just a free trial. Aside from its misleading wording, I was also concerned to learn that ZZZ.com.ua’s subdomains have been flagged for potential security risks.

Whether these issues matter depends on your needs, but it might still be tempting to overlook them as ZZZ.com.ua’s web hosting plans start at just $0/month. However, if you’re looking for affordable web hosting and reliable security features, Hostinger’s cheap plans with free 24/7 server monitoring1 might be a better fit.

Features and Ease of Use

As with any free hosting, ZZZ.com.ua’s resources and extras are minimal. That said, ZZZ.com.ua’s paid plans have pretty decent features and resources, including free backups. However, its top-tier shared VIP plan doesn’t offer unlimited storage and bandwidth as claimed. Instead, the limit is 100 GB for storage and 1.2 TB for bandwidth. (These are still high resources but not exactly “unlimited.”)

Another misleading offer is ZZZ.com.ua’s free “domain,” which is only a .zzz.com.ua subdomain. If I were you, I’d opt for a proper domain, which you can buy directly from ZZZ.com.ua. Or you can get a truly free domain from more reputable hosts.

ZZZ.com.ua does include a free proprietary control panel with all its plans, which I thoroughly tested. Despite featuring 1-click installs of WordPress and the like, I found it’s a bit more complex than your average panel. If you’re looking for a user-friendly proprietary panel that you can use to manage your account and CMS, I’d recommend Hostinger or ScalaHosting.

My main concern with ZZZ.com.ua is security, especially because I unearthed reports of blacklisting for its subdomains because of phishing and malware. I didn’t have to submit any personal details to use the subdomain on trial, which means just about anybody could be sharing the ZZZ.com.ua server with you.

ZZZ.com.ua Features at a Glance

ZZZ.com.ua offers various support channels, including contact form or email. With free and paid hosting, you can create a ticket while logged into your ZZZ.com.ua account. However, phone support is only available on the top-tier VIP plan and any VPS or dedicated plans. Live chat is apparently available too, but I was always directed to a contact form as no agents were ever available.

You’ll need an active mail client to access the email pop-up. I emailed support, but I never received a response (spoiler alert: you can directly email at [email protected]). I also sent a ticket, and while ZZZ.com.ua doesn’t advertise 24/7 support, I got a professional response to my ticket the same day, which was a Sunday. The Help section of its site is also packed with helpful guides in English, Ukrainian, and Russian.

As far as pricing goes, ZZZ.com.ua is one of those rare budget full-service hosts. Shared hosting costs under $1.00 per month, while VPS hosting starts at $6.70/month and dedicated servers won’t cost you more than around $46.60/month. At such low prices, top-tier plans are the best value. The VIP plan, especially, is dirt cheap for “unlimited” resources (which is misleading but still enough to run a growing WordPress or business website).

I appreciate that ZZZ.com.ua also offers a free 7-day trial, even if I don’t appreciate the misleading marketing as “forever-free” hosting. However, there are seemingly no refunds or money-back guarantees. You’ll only have 14 days to back out of shared hosting contracts.
