To compare the best web hosts, we hosted the same WordPress website on each one and tested performance, customer service, and value for money. Check out the results here.
Zonode is owned and operated by Belize City-based Site Arrow Inc., and it has hosted websites since 2015. This provider believes in offering exceptional value for money, and it complements its affordably-priced plans with top-notch customer service. Whether moving your website or creating a site from scratch, Zonode can provide a plan to meet your needs.
Zonode’s set of hosting services includes shared web hosting, reseller hosting, virtual servers, and dedicated servers. It also offers email hosting and domain registration services. Although its main website is in English, the shopping cart supports 25 additional languages.
Features and Ease of Use
Zonode offers three shared hosting plans, seven VPS plans, three dedicated servers, and three reseller hosting plans. Some of the shared hosting plans’ notable features are:
- CloudLinux OS
- 50 GB to unlimited disk space
- Unlimited bandwidth
- cPanel control panel
- One to unlimited domains
- Five to unlimited email accounts
- Free SSL certificate
The hosting plans provide JetBackup-powered daily backups, and the included Softaculous installer lets you run 400+ installation scripts for WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, and more.
Zonode’s servers have SSD storage options for faster storage and better performance, and the Cloudflare CDN further enhances your website’s performance by caching content close to your visitors. The 40 Gbps of DDoS protection protects you from certain kinds of attacks.
The reseller plans powered by WHMCS enable you to easily manage multiple clients, organize billing, and respond to support tickets. We also provide VPS customers with a control panel that allows you to customize the hostname, reinstall the operating system, reboot your VPS, change the root password, and perform other actions.
Pricing and Support
Zonode’s shared hosting plans are priced competitively. You can pay for them in U.S. dollars by PayPal, Apple Pay, or credit card on billing cycles from monthly to triennially. Discounts of around 50% are available when you sign up for at least a year, and you can back out at any time within the first month thanks to the 30-day money-back guarantee.
Zonode’s customer support can be contacted by telephone, support ticket, or email, but (unfortunately) my exploratory email elicited no response. If you have to resort to self-support, you should find some answers in the knowledge base, but it’s not the most extensive I have ever seen.
How much does Zonode cost?
Zonode offers plans from $3 to$6. The price depends on which type of hosting plan you choose. You can see the updated pricing table (updated weekly) below.
Which Zonode plan should I get?
My recommendation is to start with a cheaper plan. You can always upgrade later on. Zonode can help you with the migration to a more expensive plan. The increase in visitors many times takes longer than expected and you shouldn’t pay a lot of money until the need arises. Of course, your needs may vary, and you can consult with a hosting expert from Zonode.
How good is Zonode’s customer support?
Zonode is not ranked as one of our top web hosts. But that can also be a result of Zonode being a small, under the radar, hosting provider. There are advantages to a small hosting company – as a customer, you are more important to them. You can also check out our comparison of the most popular web hosting services here.
