Based in South Africa, xneelo is a web hosting provider specializing in shared hosting, dedicated servers (managed and unmanaged), colocation, reseller hosting, and domain registration. It’s not clear when the company was founded, but it operates through data centers in South Africa and Germany.
The xneelo website is limited in information but has an organized layout. It’s only available in English, and all prices are in South African rand.
Features and Ease of Use
xneelo offers four shared hosting plans – Basic, Standard, Advanced, and Master. They vary in storage, databases, mailboxes, email aliases, FTP accounts, and the allowed number of hosted domains. All plans come with unlimited monthly bandwidth and the following features:
- konsoleH control panel (custom)
- Built-in application installer
- 99.9% uptime guarantee
- SSD storage
- Free SSL certificates
- DDoS protection and mitigation
- ModSecurity (Web Application Firewall)
- Free daily backups
- Spam filtering
Unlike most web hosting providers, xneelo has its own custom control panel, called konsoleH. I usually prefer the more known control panels, such as cPanel or Plesk, but it was pretty user-friendly when I checked out konsoleH.
Like cPanel, it has several useful built-in tools. One of these tools is the built-in application installer. Even though it’s not my preferred installer, which is Softaculous, it’s easy to use and supports all the required applications, including WordPress.
All plans are powered by SSD storage which performs much faster than traditional HDD storage in website data processing. This reflects on your website’s loading speed, overall performance, and stability.
If you’re looking for higher resources or more features than what xneelo has to offer, then I suggest you take a look at our list of the top web hosting services before making any commitments.
Pricing and Support
Compared to the market average, xneelo’s prices are slightly on the expensive side. xneelo allows you to choose whether the service is prepaid or postpaid. If you choose to pay by bank transfer or credit card, you pay annually in advance, but you can choose other payment methods and pay monthly or annually after using the service.
Regrettably, xneelo lacks a money-back guarantee and does not provide a free trial. Instead, it permits a prorated refund for any unused services once you initiate the cancellation of the service.
The xneelo website has a decent knowledgebase of articles and tutorials covering the major topics. I found most of the answers I was looking for; however, contacting customer support wasn’t very helpful.
I still had a few unanswered questions, so I sent them via email to the support team. The other support channel is the phone. As per the website, the technical support staff is available 24/7 while the sales staff are available during working hours. My questions were primarily related to sales, so I used the sales team email. More than 48 hours have passed since I sent the email, and the only response I have is the automated reply informing me that someone will get back to me soon.
