Finnish web hosting provider WMHost started its operations in 2001. In 2008, it was acquired by DevNet Oy, since when it has provided a wide range of hosting solutions, including shared hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated servers, and domain registration.
WMHost’s simple Finnish-language website is somewhat messy and hard to navigate.
Features and Ease of Use
The two shared hosting packages — Premium and Business Pro — differ in terms of storage space and a few other factors. The Premium plan, which comes with 10 GB of web space and 10 email accounts, is suitable for smaller company websites. The Business Pro package, which provides 20 GB of storage and 100 email accounts, is a better fit for bigger businesses.
Despite the differences in resource levels, the two plans have the following features in common:
- Virus and spam filtering
- Unlimited FTP accounts
- PHP 5
- cPanel control panel
- MySQL with phpMyAdmin
- SSL support (with certificates sold separately)
The popular cPanel control panel provides you with complete control over website files, FTP accounts, email accounts, domains, and more. The hosting packages also come with an easy-to-use visitor statistics tool.
Pricing and Support
When compared with European and international competitors, WMHost’s hosting subscriptions are quite expensive for the specifications on offer. This host also publishes an extensive price list, for everything from creating an email box to a charge for forgetting your password, so the additional costs could soon add up.
You can choose to pay per four months, six months, or one year, and the lowest monthly cost comes with an annual commitment.
You can contact this company by telephone, ticket, or email, but (unfortunately) I received no response to my test ticket submission. For self-support, there is a surprisingly comprehensive knowledge base:
