Webkur’s beginnings can be traced back to August 2003 to a small company named Melisa Information Technologies. It was rebranded to Webkur in 2011, and has been providing individual and corporate hosting services to its loyal customer base ever since. Webkur’s services and support are available primarily in Turkish, but the team will respond in English upon request.
Features and Ease of Use
Webkur offers a range of cloud-based SSD shared, WordPress, reseller, VPS, VDS, and dedicated hosting plans. The cloud-based SSD shared hosting plans are available in both Windows and Linux OS configurations.
The Linux and Windows plans differ in terms of the amount of storage, monthly traffic, RAM, and the number of core CPUs. All these plans come with:
- cPanel (Linux) or Plesk (Linux or Windows) control panel
- Unlimited email accounts
- Unlimited subdomains
- Weekly backups
- Free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate
While Webkur doesn’t offer an uptime guarantee, all of its customers are housed in Tier III data centers. This means an average uptime of 99.982% and no more than 1.6 hours of downtime per year.
Another great feature of the company is its use of RAID-secured SSD storage for all its servers. This means that with Webkur as your partner, you can enjoy fast SSD performance and high levels of availability for your website.
Webkur doesn’t offer a free website builder, but you can buy a subscription for Site Wizard. With this website builder package, you’ll get a free domain and web hosting.
Other than that, beginners will be happy to know that Webkur supports hundreds of integrations such as Joomla, WordPress, SMF, MyBB, and so on via an easy app installer.
Pricing and Support
Webkur’s shared hosting rates are inexpensive. Though you’ll have 18% VAT added to the listed prices on the website, the plans are still very affordable. You even get a sizable 30% discount if you opt for a longer term. This applies to both the Linux and Windows plans.
You can pay for them in Turkish lira via credit card or bank transfer. Available billing cycles include monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, annual, biennial, and triennial terms. However, you should check your chosen plan’s billing cycle as not all these billing cycles are available for all plans.
You can claim a refund unconditionally (without any justification) within three days of making your purchase. Past that point, Webkur has a conditional refund policy for its annual web hosting and reseller hosting users. If you meet certain conditions (as displayed on the RETURN RULES page) within fifteen days of purchasing the web hosting service, you can put a request for cancellation and get your money back within the next fifteen days.
You can reach Webkur’s customer support via phone (Weekdays: 9 am to 6 pm; Weekends: 9 am to 2 pm, Turkey timezone), email, an online contact form, and a ticket system (the last option requires you to log into your account). I tried their support ticket system and my query was promptly answered.
Webkur has a knowledge base where you’ll find answers to the most common general questions. However, this is too basic to be of much help in the event that you need technical assistance. The knowledge base also appears to have video tutorials, though the few that I tried failed to open.
