We Provide Solutions (WPS) has been providing corporate software and internet solutions since 2013. Based in Portugal, there’s a Portuguese and English version of the website.
Features and Ease of Use
WPS sells a variety of hosting services, including cloud shared hosting plans, which come with the following core features:
- 99.5% uptime (not backed by SLA)
- Automatic remote backups
- Domain registration available
- SSL certificates
- Up to 48GB disk space
- Up to 200GB bandwidth limits
WPS uses a data center located in Portugal, ideal if you have a Portuguese customer base, which has ISO 27001 and ISO 90001 certifications. Disappointingly, the uptime is low at 99.5%, well below the industry average, and is not backed by an SLA.
The network equipment is Cisco and HP and the structure is IPv6 ready. Depending on your budget and your performance requirements, you can choose between HDD (cheaper and slower) or SSD (faster and more expensive) storage.
The plans all run on a Linux operating system with cPanel, an easy to use control panel. Value added features for experts include the fairly standard offering of PHP 5.4 and above and MySQL databases, as well as SSH access for an additional annual fee.
Despite having tried to confirm with support, it’s less clear whether there is a one-click installer or website building tool, as neither are displayed on the website. Daily backups and ongoing support and maintenance are included in all of the plans, as well as a raft of security features.
Pricing and Support
The plans are okay value, particularly good for the lower tier plans which come with all of the same features, just lower resources. Be cautious, as only one domain is included per plan, so you’ll end up paying more if you need multiple websites.
The plans can only be bought in one year terms, which is restrictive, and there isn’t a money-back guarantee, so it’s relatively high risk to get started. My other minor complaint is the number of paid add-ons e.g., domain name and SSH access, although I do like the fact that you can customize your plan by adding domains and additional disk space.
Customer service is restricted to email and phone only, and there’s no clear indication of the business hours or average response time. Based on my experience, I sent an email on a weekday and despite waiting three business days, I didn’t receive a reply.
Furthermore, there are no help documents on the main website. There is a client’s only area which requires login, so I don’t know if there are more resources located inside.
