A Vietnamese Host With a Lot to Offer Locally and Abroad

One of Vietnix’s biggest draws is its low pricing – oh, and its customer service, as I found out myself. Because it’s geared toward the local market, its website and support is primarily in Vietnamese and prices are listed in the Vietnamese Dong. While the website might be tricky to navigate if you don’t know Vietnamese (though completely accessible via Google Translate), the client portal is available in English. The support team can communicate in English as well.
Only having local data centers in Vietnam, Vietnix’s performance may not be as impressive as a host like Hostinger, whose international data center network delivers lightning-fast loading speeds globally. Features and Ease of Use
One of the things I like about Vietnix is how all-inclusive its hosting packages are. From the most basic shared hosting plan, you’ll pretty much get the same features as higher-tiered plans, such as a free SSL, cPanel with Softaculous, and unlimited bandwidth.
Vietnix also offers an uptime guarantee and a money-back guarantee across shared, VPS, and dedicated hosting. The host doesn’t discourage you from opting for a smaller, less powerful, or lower-cost package like some other competitors do. The range of Vietnix hosting plans is quite comprehensive and there are enough variations in resources to cover your exact website needs.
When choosing a plan, Vietnix will show you resource quotas, including RAM and CPU limits, so you’ll know exactly what you’re paying for. That said, I did notice the storage quotas started a bit low for Cheap shared hosting plans (think 200 MB!). So, if you have a graphic- or content-heavy site, you might need to upgrade to Business or opt for a VPS plan.
Otherwise, the only other feature missing really is a free domain name. However, considering Vietnix’s pricing, it’s not a hassle (nor a huge expense) to purchase this separately. Support
Vietnix offers almost every support channel possible, including live chat, phone, and email – which is a lot more than other international hosts (ahem, not naming any names right now). Still, as impressive as this was, I reached out to see how well this host fared in the customer support department. From a technical perspective, Vietnix support could do with some tweaking.
However, from a human perspective, Vietnix support is (almost) all you could want.
What I mean by this is that it took me a good while to figure out how to navigate the live chat box, given it’s all in Vietnamese. But when I did get through, I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of assistance I received.
Unfortunately, I contacted Vietnix live chat support – which is only available from 8:00 a.m. until midnight local time – out of hours. Regardless, a welcome reply from an agent popped through in minutes. They were helpful, knowledgeable, and quick to respond. They’re also 100% able to assist in English, which was unexpected.
Pricing
Vietnix is certainly one of the more affordable hosts out there, with basic hosting starting at [-] per month. However, do note that your first term is discounted, with Vietnix’s full price renewal rates jumping to around 30%. Shared and VPS plans don’t need too much of a commitment: 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years are available. VPS hosting also offers monthly payments. Like most hosts, selecting a longer term of service qualifies you for lower pricing.
If you’re worried about making such a commitment, Vietnix offers both a 100% money-back guarantee and a pro-rated refund. However, the length and specifics vary per plan. For example, VPS and shared hosting plans are eligible for a full refund during the first 7 days of service and a pro-rated refund thereafter for up to 30 days. Unfortunately, this guarantee isn’t applicable for non-hosting services like domains, paid SSL, and license purchases.
Considering its hosting storage limits, Vietnix’s Business shared hosting plans seem the best option and start at $6.10. However, if your site is simple, why not take advantage of the extremely low-cost Vietnix Cheap shared hosting plans? Regardless, just be sure to budget for a domain name. Since Vietnix doesn’t include one for free, you’ll have to purchase it separately.
