Universalus sprendimai UAB (Universal Solutions) is a Lithuanian web hosting company that also provides a set Latvia-targeted hosting plans from its unri.lv website. It has been in business since 2006, and its Latvian-language website is also available in English (but doesn’t translate entirely).
As a website design and development company, it aims to be a one-stop shop for end-to-end web solutions, but its own basic websites leave something to be desired in design terms.
Features and Ease of Use
The three shared hosting plans provide a free domain and the following features:
- 500 MB to 3,000 MB disk space
- Unlimited network traffic
- Unlimited multi-domain hosting
- Unlimited MySQL databases and email accounts
If your website hosts large files or streaming media, the maximum limit of 3,000 MB for storage space won’t be sufficient. Once you go beyond this limit, this provider doesn’t have any VPS or dedicated servers available to support your scaling needs.
You don’t get an SSL certificate, which is disappointing these days, and these hosting plans also lack user-friendly features; i.e., there is no website builder and no one-click installer. This may be because the company wants you to take advantage of its website design, programming, and SEO services.
Pricing and Support
The shared hosting plans are dirt cheap, and they can be paid for quarterly, half-yearly, yearly, or two-yearly by bank transfer or PayPal. Secure a discount of up to 60%+ by signing up for a long stretch.
You can contact this company by telephone, email, or online contact form. Although my email approach received no response, this company was successfully contacted for another review (of its Lithuanian site), so there are no worries about it still being in business. Unfortunately, there is no knowledge base or other self-support resources.
