In business since 2008, Triton Grupa is a Croatia-based IT services company. Its services include hosting, server maintenance, local office IT support, G Suite, and Office 365. The staff has more than 15 years of experience in the management of IT communications.
Triton Grupa’s website is in Croatian and English, but some sections of the website don’t fully translate in the English version.
Features and Ease of Use
Triton Grupa offers only one shared hosting plan. This plan is more suitable for personal websites and sole entrepreneurs who want a simple company website. Customers on this plan are provided with the following features and resources:
- Automated backups
- One domain for each account
- 1GB storage space
- 30GB bandwidth
This plan cannot handle much. Most small businesses will require more than 1GB of storage space, especially since there’s no extra space for backups. Also, the space for emails is only 1GB. In my experience, one account can exhaust this in a short time. Therefore, this hosting wouldn’t work for most businesses who don’t plan to host their emails under another provider (Gmail for example).
Triton Grupa offers the Plesk control panel, and you can choose the operating system you want on it. However, beware that there’s no one-click installer. As a result, you’ll have to upload your application files to the control panel to install them. This requires technical skill and is time-taking.
Also, there’s no website builder provided. You’ll have to write your own HTML or get someone to do it for you. It’s safe to say that this provider didn’t put beginners into consideration when crafting its offering. That’s not surprising given its lack of hosting specialization. If you’re a beginner, you may be better off with a different beginner-friendly web host.
If you have experience or are willing to hire a developer, and you’re looking for VPS, you’re in for a treat. Triton Grupa offers three VPS plans with ample disk space and bandwidth. The highest-tier VPS plan even includes a remote offline backup space of 150GB.
Pricing and Support
Both the VPS and shared hosting plans are costly for the features on offer. Plus, there’s no free domain registration or free SSL certificate. You’ll have to purchase those separately and from another vendor. Not only is that an additional cost, but it also means you’ll need a bit of technical help to connect your domain nameservers to your hosting account and install your SSL certificate.
There’s also no uptime guarantee, and you cannot place an order directly on the website. You’ll have to inform the customer support of your interest in its services to buy hosting. Though, you can only do this via email as there is no support provided via phone or live chat. There is also no knowledge base available either, so you’ll really have to rely on email. Luckily, when I emailed the company, I got a response within less than 24 hours.
