Started seven years ago, TheIDEAHosting is a Canada-based hosting provider, but its website is all in Russian. It specializes in shared hosting, VDS (virtual dedicated server) hosting, and domain registration. Its servers are located in the US, Germany, Russia, and Singapore.
The website has a simple and professional layout, but only in Russian. Strangely enough, all prices are displayed in US dollars.
Features and Ease of Use
TheIDEAHosting offers five shared hosting plans – WWW-1, WWW-4, WWW-8, WWW-16, and WWW-32. You can also choose which server location you want your account to be on (Russia, Germany, or the US).
These plans vary mainly in storage (between 1 GB and 32 GB), number of MySQL databases, FTP accounts, email accounts, and domains. They all come with unlimited monthly bandwidth and several other features, including:
- ISPManager control panel
- Built-in installer
- Automatic daily backups
- SSD storage
- Free SSL certificate
- SSH access
- Free domain
- Cron jobs
When it comes to control panels, I usually prefer the more popularly used cPanel, but ISPManager is also a common control panel. Like cPanel, ISPManager has a user-friendly management interface through which you can easily control all aspects of your website.
ISPManager also includes useful tools like cron jobs, which is responsible for automatic execution of website tasks in a periodic manner. Instead of having to execute every website task yourself, all you need to do is input all the tasks in the tool, set the specific time for each task to be executed, and leave the rest to cron jobs.
Another useful tool is SSH access, which allows you to remotely access the control panel of your website from anywhere, from any device that supports the control panel. Instead of having to be stuck in the office or on one specific device, with SSH access, you can manage your website on the go.
Pricing and Support
TheIDEAHosting offers a range of prices to cater to various budget requirements, spanning from affordable to premium. You have the flexibility to select payment intervals, including monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual options.
Accepted payment methods include credit/debit cards (through Stripe), PayPal, WebMoney, and wire transfer.
TheIDEAHosting doesn’t exactly have a money-back guarantee, but I was advised by customer support that a full refund can be issued for any unused period. In addition, there’s a seven-day free trial.
Speaking of support, TheIDEAHosting website has an unimpressive knowledge base that contains very few articles.
On the bright side, you can get in touch with customer support through live chat, email, or ticket support. I tested both the live chat and the ticket support and was pretty impressed by the instant and thorough response of both channels.
It’s worth noting that I was only able to get through to the live chat support after the ticket support team had automatically created a free account for me.
