Speed Solid’s English-language website doesn’t say when the company was established, but it has been posting on Facebook since March 2017, so it’s at least that old. Its Yelp page tells us that this company is based in Los Angeles, California, but I don’t know the location of its data center (if any).
Features and Ease of Use
Speed Solid offers just two shared hosting plans — Basic Plus and Business Pro — which are administered using the cPanel control panel. The Basic Plus plan lets you host one website and provides 10 GB storage plus 50 GB bandwidth. For more storage (30 GB) and more bandwidth (unlimited), you can choose the Business Pro plan that lets you host unlimited websites. These plans also provide you with:
- SSL security
- Backups
- Free website transfer
- Unlimited emails
This company mentions minimal downtime, but I can’t see any apparent uptime guarantee. Also, there’s no sign of a one-click installer or website builder.
Pricing and Support
Speed Solid’s shared hosting plans are incredibly pricey at more than ten times the market average, and you may have to pay extra for an SSL certificate at the checkout. You can pay for the Basic Plus plan monthly, and the Business Pro plan monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually, with a small discount for an annual commitment. There is no money-back guarantee as far as I can see.
24/7 customer support can be summoned via telephone, live chat, email, online contact form, or (theoretically) Facebook. Unfortunately, the live chat wasn’t available when I wanted to try it, and my submitted questions went unanswered. Self-support resources seem to be limited to this host’s tech blog.
