SkyHosting is a brand of the Serbia-based Skyneting company. It was established in 2014, and although it has been in the hosting business for only a few years, in this short time, it has built a reputation as a good web hosting choice for small and medium-sized enterprises. Its hosting solutions include shared hosting, VPS, domain services, and SSL certificates.
SkyHosting’s website is available in Serbian and English.
Features and Ease of Use
SkyHosting’s website hosting solutions come with the following features:
- Free migration
- WHM/cPanel
- Free SSL certificate
- MySQL databases
- PHP selector (5.4 to 7.3)
- Unlimited email accounts
- Free setup
- Daily, weekly, and monthly backups
SkyHosting tries to keep up with the latest technologies by continually monitoring the most recent available software versions on its servers. It has made multiple PHP versions available, and it uses the latest MySQL 5.7 databases as well as Apache 2.4.
This provider performs daily, weekly, and monthly data backups on different servers, retaining at least three backup copies. However, customers are encouraged to create their own backup copies since the company does not fully guarantee the integrity of its own backups.
Managed VPS customers get additional backup space of up to 100 GB for a fee. VPS customers also get full control of their virtual servers, including full root access and the ability to customize and configure the virtual servers completely. VPS servers are based on the Linux operating system and use the GUI-based SolusVM VPS management system with full OpenVZ virtualization technology to offer a high level of manageability, stability, and maximum performance.
We equip all our servers with modern hardware components, such as Xeon processors, DDR4 ECC memory, and SSD storage, to provide fast and secure hosting services. However, we do not provide an uptime guarantee or even an uptime estimate, as far as I can see.
Pricing and Support
SkyHosting’s web hosting plans are quite affordable, and they include free setup and free website migration, but you have to make an annual commitment, and you only have 48 hours to change your mind. However, this provider’s home page does include the invitation, “If you want to see the quality of our service, you can contact us and we will give you 7 days of web hosting for the test.”
For self-support, SkyHosting provides an acceptable knowledge base. If this doesn’t answer your questions, you can contact SkyHosting’s 24/7 technical support team via telephone, ticketing system, and live chat, but there is no email support. I found the technical support team to be always available and quite helpful:
