According to its Facebook page, Egyptian host Shark4Host was established in 2007. Its somewhat old-fashioned website, which still relies on the outdated Adobe Flash Player, doesn’t translate well from its native Arabic into English. All prices are displayed in Saudi riyals, Egyptian pounds, and U.S. dollars.
Features and Ease of Use
Shark4Host offers ten shared hosting price plans that vary in storage and monthly bandwidth. Disk space ranges from 100 MB to 4 GB, and monthly bandwidth ranges from 3 GB to 200 GB.
All the packages apart from the lowest four plans come with a free domain, and the common features across all packages are:
- 99.9% uptime guarantee
- Automatic regular backups
- Unlimited FTP accounts
- AWStats and Webalizer
- cPanel control panel
- Fantastico installer
The popular cPanel control panel gives you complete control of your hosting, including managing files, domains, FTP accounts, email accounts, and much more. Although I prefer Softaculous, the provided Fantastico installer does pretty much the same job of allowing you to install all necessary applications, including phpBB, Mambo, Xoops, Guestbook, and more.
Shark4Host guarantees instant website activation as soon as you’ve chosen your package, and they can also handle migrating your website from another host.
Pricing and Support
SharkHost’s hosting plans are highly affordable for the features you get, and you can pay for them via various methods, including bank transfer, postal money transfer, and Western Union. Available billing cycles are semi-annual and annual, but you only get a free domain with an annual commitment. As far as I can see, only the reseller hosting plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
You can only contact customer support via support ticket. My test support ticket received a rapid automated reply but no subsequent response, and there are no self-support resources as far as I know.
