Danish host, redHOST, is a part of the IT Forum Group which has many years of experience in hosting and server operations. Robust infrastructure and an expert team combine to provide quality hosting. Services on offer include web hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, domain services, and SSL certificates. The redHOST website is available only in Danish.
Features and Ease of Use
At redHOST, you have the option to choose from four shared hosting packages, eight VPS packages (both managed and unmanaged), and customized dedicated server solutions. The hosting packages provide you with:
- 1 GB to 25 GB storage
- Free traffic
- 1 to 25 domains
- 1 to 25 MySQL databases
- 10 to 250 email addresses and aliases
- Daily backups and free recovery
The one-click installer helps you install many popular CMS and e-commerce systems such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, PrestaShop, and TYPO3. FTP backups provide an extra level of data protection, and remote MySQL access is available as a paid extra; as is a website monitoring service that notifies you of any issues with forms, scripts, or website loading times.
Pricing and Support
The hosting packages are pricey at around three times the industry average. You can pay for plans only on an annual basis, which may be problematic since there is no money-back guarantee (as far as I can see) to get you out of your annual commitment early.
Contact the redHOST customer support team by telephoning, emailing, or filling out the online contact form. You have to pay extra for additional support, including “emergency support” over the Christmas period. Unfortunately, my exploratory email went unanswered. There is no self-support knowledge base, as far as I know, but you can get some answers by using the website’s search function.
