QuickHostUK is a U.K.-based hosting company that’s been in business since 2011. They have built a reputation for reliability and quality resulting in a global client base. They provide a remarkably robust low-cost shared hosting platform that’s perfect for most websites.
Features and Ease of Use
QuickHostUK is one of the most robust shared hosting providers. Check out this impressive list of “standard” features:
- Softaculous auto installer
- 99.999% uptime
- Let’s Encrypt Free SSL
- SiteLock Lite Protection
- Unlimited emails
- Unlimited subdomains
They offer support for some of the most popular programming languages along with other fantastic value-added features, such as:
- Supports PHP-LSAPI, Ruby on Rails, Perl, Python, SSL, HTTP/2
- SSH access and Cron job scheduling
- Unlimited MySQL databases
- Backups every six hours
- CloudFlare protection
I’m impressed by the number of features this service offers as a user will have near VPS-level access for shared hosting. Between SiteLock Lite and CloudFlare protection, your site will be protected from outside threats.
QuickHostUK makes it easy for webmasters of all skill levels to get started. Their Softaculous auto-installer makes it easy to install over 300 scripts that include CRM platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, and more. You can also install various E-commerce scripts such as Magento.
For power users, you’ll have greater freedom to build your site as you see fit through cPanel access with unlimited FTP access and a variety of the most popular programming languages.
Pricing and Support
QuickHostUK has three service plans with the only differences being storage, bandwidth, and the number of domains you can hosts as outlined below:
Starter | Business | Unlimited | |
Storage | 500MB | 1GB | Unlimited |
Bandwidth | 5GB | 10GB | Unlimited |
Domains | 1 | 1 | 3 |
I’m going to make what seems an odd recommendation, and that’s to jump straight to Unlimited with this provider. The difference in price between the three is so little (less than a kids meal at McDonald’s) that it doesn’t make much sense to choose anything except Unlimited.
The one caveat to using QuickHostUK is that plans do not come with a free domain. If you already have a domain, great! You can just transfer it. Otherwise, you must purchase a domain separately. However, as low as their hosting prices are, you can easily afford to buy a domain name.
Note that QuickHostUK offers a “website builder” service for those wanting drag and drop functionality, but all they’re doing is reselling Weebly packages.
Furthermore, the customer support team informed me that if you require additional features that are not covered by these plans, such as hosting more than three domains, they are more than happy to create a custom plan specifically tailored to meet your needs. Rest assured, they are dedicated to accommodating your unique requirements and ensuring that you have the perfect hosting solution in place.
Customer support for QuickHostUK is reasonably solid. They offer a knowledge base with an extensive hosting guides section. They provide both live chat and email ticket support. I contacted support, and they answered immediately. Agents were native English speakers and responded to my questions quickly.
While I’d like to see phone support offered as well, the available options should be sufficient to help you resolve any issues that arise.
