Danish host Powerhosting claims to take a customer-centric approach to providing hosting services to varied clients. I can’t tell you exactly how old this company is, but I can tell you that it joined Twitter in 2010, so it must be at least that old. According to its Facebook postings, its current Danish-language website was launched in 2016.
Features and Ease of Use
Powerhosting offers one web hosting package, three Magento hosting packages, four dedicated server packages, and four VPS packages. The web hosting package provides you with:
- Unlimited space
- Unlimited traffic
- Unlimited domains and subdomains
- Unlimited email addresses
- PHP 5.6 and MySQL
- Git access
- IMAP and POP3
- DNS administration
- Virus and malware scanning, and spam filtering
- Daily backups
Hosting plans come with SSH/SFTP access, so you can access your server securely from wherever you are, and you can schedule Cron jobs for regular tasks rather than having to execute them manually every time.
Aside from standard web hosting, which allows you to add WordPress at the checkout, you can also choose from a set of Magento e-commerce plans. Other offerings include server management services (where Powerhosting takes the strain so that you can concentrate on your core business) and SSL certificates (to secure your site and help improve your search engine standing).
Pricing and Support
Powerhosting’s hosting is priced above average. You can pay for it only on an annual basis in U.S. dollars, euros, or Danish krone via various methods, including bank transfer, PayPal, and a payment gateway for credit/debit cards. There is no money-back guarantee or trial period as far as I can see.
You can contact us by telephone, ticket (current customers), email, live chat, or online form, but I have to tell you that my form submissions went unanswered. Our self-support resources are limited to a blog containing mainly technical updates.
