For many website owners today, their final choice of vendor comes down to being able to build websites without learning any programming languages. To help such customers, Pace Infonet offers a one-click installer with over 100 applications available. With it, you can install some of the most popular CMSes such as WordPress, Joomla, and Magento. They even have a website builder available, although their selection of templates is fairly limited and the builder itself isn’t the most user-friendly. More technically-advanced webmasters will also be happy to learn that Pace Infonet provides support for you to code in PHP, Perl, CGI, cURL, Javascript, and AJAX — though unfortunately they don’t support Ruby or Ruby on Rails.
Sadly, none of their packages come with SSL certificates: these need to be purchased separately. There are three different packages for SSL certificates available. Pace Infonet has both Windows and Linux-based hosting with unlimited hosting plans available. In the Linux version, you have the additional option of basic hosting packages with limited resources. The price difference between the limited and unlimited hosting packages isn’t big, but it might save you a tidy sum if you already know how much storage and bandwidth you’ll likely need for your website. Also, while they offer free upgrades, they charge a fee to downgrade your plan. They do provide a 30-day money back guarantee, however.
The unlimited hosting packages come in four plans named Personal, Business, Pro Super and Pro Ultimate. They allow you to host one, two, five, and ten websites respectively. You have at your disposal unlimited storage, bandwidth, email accounts, subdomains, FTP accounts, and databases. These packages are almost unbelievable and offer great value for money; note, however, that only the Pro Super and Pro Ultimate plans give you a free domain registration, so you should take that into account when calculating your total costs.
While I love most aspects of Pace Infonet, I have to admit that I was a little disappointed with their customer service. Their website claims they offer award-winning customer service 24/7/365 with an average response time of 1.09 hours. However, my experience with their support system wasn’t consistent with this claim. I reached out to them multiple times through live chat, both in the morning and the evening, but I never received a response. During my third attempt, the live chat operator finally responded but instructed me to send an email instead. Following their instructions, I emailed them at the provided email address, but even after a few days, I still hadn’t received a response.
