Features and Ease of Use
NiNet Company’s most standout feature is that their location in Serbia gives them the ability to offer servers in close geographic proximity to the Western European markets, but at an Eastern European price point. In addition, all of their plans come with free SSL certificates, making them an attractive option for e-commerce webmasters.
NiNet Company offers both HDD and SSD shared web hosting plans. Unfortunately, neither of these categories include an uptime guarantee, even though their data center boasts an availability of 99.95% annually. In addition, there is no mention of Softaculous, or any specific integrations like WordPress or Magento being made available. Here’s a list of the features offered with their shared hosting packages:
- CloudLinux OS
- cPanel
- MySQL databases
- PHP 4.4 – 7.0
- Free Comodo SSL certificate
- Regular backups
The main difference is that the SSD hosting plans are designed for webmasters running high-traffic blogs or e-commerce stores, so they include far more bandwidth along with full SSD’s running on ten-core Xeon servers. In addition to everything included in the regular HDD plans, here are some of the additional options available with their SSD shared hosting plans:
- Password-protected directories
- Error logs
- Hotlink protection
- Additional IP addresses
- CMS installation
NiNet also offers VPS and dedicated hosting for those who outgrow their shared servers.
Pricing and Support
Another aspect that sets NiNet Company apart is their pricing. Despite the company’s geographic proximity to Western Europe and membership in the European Union, they’re able to offer a wide range of performance options for well below what you would pay for servers in Western Europe.
There are eight different plans offered with shared hosting: four HDD plans and four SSD plans. Aside from the bandwidth offered, the feature sets, disk space, and guaranteed server resources for each tier are the same for both HDD and SSD hosting. Both their HDD and SSD shared hosting plans are priced extremely inexpensively for what they offer, though I’d have liked to see the inclusion of more beginner-friendly tools such as an auto-installer.
Yet another standout feature is that their Platinum plans offer a dedicated, SSH jailed IP address. Websites with this active are protected even if a different website on the same server gets hacked or gets a high spam rating.
Support is below average. I received a response from their online ticketing system, but it took a few days. They have a knowledge base that provides answers to some basic questions, but for more technical inquiries, you’ll need assistance from their support staff. However, there are no options for phone support, email, or live chat, so you’re limited to using the ticketing system.
