Netsons is a GDPR-compliant Italian hosting company and fully registered domain registrar. As well as shared hosting products suitable for individuals and large business, Netsons’ catalog also includes cloud hosting and dedicated servers.
To date, this company has served more than 150,000 customers, mainly in Italy and the rest of Europe. Its website is in Italian.
Features and Ease of Use
Netsons appears to offer just about any feature you can reasonably expect from a web host:
- 99.9% uptime guarantee
- Free domains for life
- Free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates
- Automatic daily backups kept for 31 days
- Up to 1000 GB of HD and 100 GB of SSD web storage
- Unlimited shared hosting and cloud hosting traffic
However, the included features are dependent on the plan. For example, the most affordable plan makes you miss out on PrestaShop and Magento hosting, domain parking, remote database access, automatic backups, and support for programming languages such as Node.js and Ruby on Rails.
All shared hosting products come with semi-dedicated resources to give better performance and stability than most other shared hosts. You can also add on (at extra cost) a CDN, premium SSL certificates that support SNI, and premium SEO indexing that will help you rank higher on search engines.
Since Netsons is GDPR-compliant, your data will be hosted in accordance with Europe’s data protection regulations.
Pricing and Support
Since it offers just about every type of hosting you can think of, there’s a lot to consider when looking at Netsons’ plans and pricing. The prices start exceptionally low for shared hosting in Europe. It doesn’t mean they’re “cheap,” but it does mean you get good value for money.
All plans come with a free lifetime domain as long as you are a Netsons customer. You also get a free SSL certificate, email hosting, and cPanel account. Since you don’t get discounts for longer terms, you might prefer to ditch the free domain to benefit from monthly billing instead.
On the more expensive plans, you’re mainly paying for more storage, but you do need higher tier plans to host applications like Magento or PrestaShop, and to unlock some other features. The optional add-ons tend to be genuinely useful and decently priced.
Affordability also extends to cloud hosting, VPS hosting, and even dedicated servers, and all shared and cloud hosting plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
You get a surprising level of support for the low prices you pay. All customers get 24/7 support via live chat, ticket, and telephone (U.S. and Italian helplines). There are also comprehensive FAQs and additional documentation.
Netsons’ support team aims to respond to all requests within 10 minutes. Although they don’t always meet this target, they always provide a response within a reasonable timeframe. I found their live chat to be highly responsive on weekdays, and slightly less so on weekends, which is understandable. While they couldn’t assist me with my specific issue, they were extremely polite and helpful.
How much does Netsons cost?
Netsons offers plans from $2 to $23. The price depends on which type of hosting plan you choose. You can see the updated pricing table (updated weekly) below.
Which Netsons plan should I get?
My recommendation is to start with a cheaper plan. You can always upgrade later on. Netsons can help you with the migration to a more expensive plan. The increase in visitors many times takes longer than expected and you shouldn’t pay a lot of money until the need arises. Of course, your needs may vary, and you can consult with a hosting expert from Netsons here.
How good is Netsons’s customer support?
Netsons is not ranked as one of our top web hosts. But that can also be a result of Netsons being a small, under the radar, hosting provider. There are advantages to a small hosting company – as a customer, you are more important to them. You can also check out our comparison of the most popular web hosting services here.
