Since starting its journey in 1998, Netsite has offered high-quality hosting services to a considerable number of clients, and (according to its website) it has hosted more than 11,000 domains to date.
Netsite’s Danish-language website has an “English” button which leads to a single summary page written in English.
Features and Ease of Use
Netsite’s bouquet of services includes three shared hosting packages, plus customizable VPS packages (with your choice of CPU, memory, disk space, and operating system). The shared hosting packages provide you with:
- 2 GB to 20 GB web disk space
- Free traffic
- PHP 7.1/7.2/7.3 and PHP OPcache
- 1 to 3 MariaDB 10.3 databases with 50 MB to 2 GB database disk space
- Free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates
- FTP and FTPS access
- 5 to 50 email addresses with 5 GB to 100 GB email disk space
- POP3, IMAP, SMTP, and Webmail
- Antivirus and spam filters
- Backups
- Free installation
Since installing WordPress or another CMS can be taxing and time-consuming, Netsite simplifies the process by providing a one-click installer. The same goes for installing an e-commerce application like WooCommerce.
The use of Brotli compression reduces bandwidth and helps content load faster, and the SSH access means you can control your server securely from anywhere in the world. Speaking of servers, Netsite offers KVM-based VPS hosting.
Pricing and Support
Although you get a Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate for free, Netsite also sells more advanced SSL certificates. Its shared hosting packages are priced slightly above the industry average, and you can pay for them only semi-annually in Danish krone via MobilePay or credit/debit card. VPS packages can only be paid for quarterly using a credit card.
You can get remote support via TeamViewer, and you can contact Netsite’s customer support team via telephone, Twitter, email, or online chat. Unfortunately, my exploratory email received no response. For self-support, you’ll find an informative blog and some decent support pages.
