Now a premium hosting provider with data centers around the world, Netrouting was founded in 2007 with a vision to be the “new standard in the fast-evolving world of web hosting.” Their website can be switched between English and Dutch.
Features and Ease of Use
Netrouting offers a very wide range of services, including (but not limited to) cloud hosting, dedicated servers, colocation, shared hosting, and domain registration. The core features of the shared hosting plans are:
- 99.99% uptime guarantee
- Domain registration available at additional cost
- 2GB to 15GB disk space
- 100GB to 1000GB bandwidth
- From ten to one hundred add-on domains
- Choice of three server locations (Netherlands, Sweden, U.S.)
Netrouting runs a professional TIER 1 network that uses robust branded hardware such as Juniper and Brocade. Their servers are located in two Netherlands data centers, one U.S. data center, and one Swedish data center. Netrouting commits to low latency, high-speed connections, and optimal availability, to ensure a 99.99% uptime guarantee backed by a service level agreement with compensation.
There are four core shared hosting packages named Starter, Builder, Master, and Ultimate. The plans range from 2GB to 15GB disk space, 100GB to 1000GB bandwidth, and from 10 to 100 add-on domains, so they’re fairly substantial all round. All plans run on CloudLinux, which is widely known for its security and stability, and they utilize the easy-to-use and reliable cPanel / WHM control panel.
I’m left a little underwhelmed by the lack of beginner-friendly features (i.e., no one-click installer and no website builder) plus the lack of advanced features such as support for advanced coding languages. But I like the fact that you can choose your server location (from the U.S., Netherlands or Sweden) and the fact that all accounts come with multiple FTP access.
Pricing and Support
Netrouting’s prices are good, and their affordably-priced lowest package comes with ample resources for most everyday users. Just be sure to factor in the additional costs of SSL certificates and domain registration. You can purchase the plans on one-, six-, or twelve-month terms, and there is a discount for purchasing a one-year term up-front.
Netrouting offers several customer service commitments:
- Their ten-day money-back guarantee will refund you in full if you’re not happy for any reason.
- Multilingual support is available 24/7/365 by live chat (although, ironically, it was offline when I visited the site).
- Support requests should receive a response within one hour.
- There is a commitment to 100% power uptime with a 99.99% uptime guarantee.
The company maintains several relatively active social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and the soon-to-be-defunct Google+). It’s important to mention that there are a few negative Facebook reviews about the company, but they don’t reflect my own personal experience.
I contacted this company via chat when it was offline, so my message got sent as an email instead. The customer service team responded with ten minutes to answer my queries about their service level agreement, uptime guarantee, and associated compensation. They provided me with the detailed SLA containing all the information I needed.
