NETHOST is a website hosting company located in the Czech Republic, and as such, their website is available in Czechoslovakian. They own hundreds of physical servers and provide technical services to more than fifty thousand domains. They focus on providing top quality service at an affordable price.
Features and Ease of Use
NETHOST offers quite a varied range of services. These include, but are not limited to: virtual private servers, shared website hosting, server rental, and managed servers, as well as SSL certificates and domain registration.
To give you an idea of their services, their shared website hosting plans include:
- Guaranteed availability of 99.99%
- Backup hardware available
- Optional domain registration at extra cost
- SSL certificates included
- Advanced 24/7/365 monitoring,
- From 1GB to 20GB disk space dependent on plan
NETHOST offers five shared hosting website plans: Mini, Basic, Start, Classic, and Profi. They don’t offer a huge number of features targeted to beginners. For example, they’re lacking a website builder and a one-click installer. Similarly, their website is quite complex to navigate and the language is overly technical for most new website owners.
However, they do have some nice advanced level features. All packages come with FTP access and MySQL databases, as well as support for PHP 5.6 and PHP 7. It’s great to see them offering support for the faster version 7, however, I’d really like to see more support for other advanced coding languages such as Ruby, Python, Javascript, and so on.
They don’t advertise their uptime and it’s not clear what tier their data center is, though, they are using some good quality technology such as Cisco, Juniper, and HP for their redundant hardware, and they are ISO 27001 certified.
Pricing and Support
Their pricing is very affordable when compared to other local providers, as well as large international competitors. Domain registration and VAT are added extras on the advertised price, but that doesn’t make it unaffordable. The hosting plans can be purchased in three, six, and twelve month terms and they offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all of their plans.
To get support, they offer a contact form, email address, and telephone number, but don’t clearly advertise their business hours or average response time, which is a pity. They don’t provide a knowledge base on their website, unless it’s behind the client login section, which is often the case with hosting companies. I’d prefer if they had live chat on their website because their email response times have been slow at times.
