Features and Ease of Use
Nerim Virtual Machines are all customizable and hosted on Dell high-density servers. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect from Nerim VMs.
- Dell high-density servers
- VMware for virtualization
- NetApp used for storage
- Cisco network equipment
- Tier 3+ datacenters
You have a lot of freedom with Nerim VMs including the ability to install multiple Windows or Linux-based operating systems. Here are some of the advantages of using a Nerim VM.
- Choice of Windows or Linux-based operating systems
- Allocate VM resources remotely
- 1Gbps bandwidth allocated to each machine
- Daily backups with 7-days data retention
The ability to allocate resources remotely is a great feature as you don’t need a service ticket to change your virtual memory or other resources on your machine. Note that the number of resources available will be determined by the service plan you negotiate with the company.
VMs are not for beginners. You will need to know how to set up and administer a web server to use their products. If you need help in setting up websites or servers, you need to stick with shared hosting.
Pricing and Support
Nerim doesn’t offer flat-rate services for their Cloud Hosting services. Instead, they ask that you contact them directly to discuss your Cloud Hosting needs. They do offer a wide variety of customization services including the ability to add dedicated IP addresses to your hosting with one reserved for your client.
Nerim offers solid support for their cloud hosting services with 24/7 phone support as well as email and ticket support. Ticket support is only available to customers. However, they have a service time guarantee of 10 minutes once a ticket number is issued to you.
They don’t offer any form of a knowledge base, and their Resource Center is primarily targeted to other services they provide. All documentation is in French and you will need Google Translate to access support data.
Given that their Cloud Hosting is more akin to VPS rather than shared hosting, it’s not surprising that you are expected to have a grasp of basic support tasks. While having live chat support would be beneficial, you can still easily reach them with just a phone call.
