Navidan is a small Iranian hosting company that began in 2014 by providing Linux-based shared hosting solutions, dedicated servers, VPS, and domain name registration services. Its website is only available in Persian.
Features and Ease of Use
Navidan’s hosting solutions include the following standard features:
- Linux operating system
- DirectAdmin control panel
- Backup and management
- Free DNS management
- 100 Mbps server port
- 24-hour customer support
“Linux host” is this vendor’s basic shared hosting solution that is offered as six hosting plans. Host 1 is the starter plan that comes with 50 MB disk space, 3 GB monthly traffic, and 1 database. Host 6 is the advanced plan that includes 2 GB disk space, 60 GB monthly traffic, 20 domains, and 6 databases. These plans are suitable for hosting websites with regular resource requirements and moderate website visits.
All the plans include RAID 10 configuration, DirectAdmin control panel, and free website transfer. What’s more, the Linux programming support includes PHP, Perl, and CGI.
Except for its VPS hosting, Navidan does not include backup solutions with any of its hosting services. Even for VPS hosting, the vendor only mentions backups in a passing comment with no further explanation. You should also be aware that none of the hosting solutions come with SSL certificates.
Navidan’s Linux-based servers are housed in Iranian data centers that are connected to several internet backbones powered by the leading internet connection providers in Iran. The vendor’s dedicated servers are equipped with HDD SAS disk servers with a RAID configuration.
Pricing and Support
Navidan’s hosting plans are pretty cheap. They are priced in Iranian rials, and you can pay for plans monthly. There is no free trial and no money-back guarantee on offer, so you can’t try before you buy. There is also no uptime guarantee.
You can reach out to the technical support team via telephone or ticketing system, but there is no live chat, and the support email link leads nowhere. Although the support team is advertised as being available around the clock, it doesn’t always respond to customer (or prospective customer) queries. When I submitted a test ticket, I received no response at all, not even an automated acknowledgment.
The absence of personalized customer care wouldn’t be as concerning if Navidan had adequate self-support resources, but unfortunately, their website lacks a knowledge base.
