MAXER capitalizes on sixteen years of industry experience to offer a wide variety of shared hosting, reseller hosting, and VPS hosting plans to suit everyone from Hungarian hobbyists to large enterprises.
At the time of writing, MAXER takes care of 228 managed servers and virtual machines and provides more than 30,000 client email accounts. It has a total of almost 135,000 GB of hosted storage on servers located at the BIX Internet Center in Budapest.
MAXER’s website is in Hungarian.
Features and Ease of Use
MAXER offers four shared hosting packages: Hobby, Business, Business Plus, and Business 100G. The entry-level Hobby Hosting package comes with one free domain, 200 MB storage, 3 email addresses, and free Let’s Encrypt SSL. It uses RAID 10 SSDs and supports MySQL, PHP 7, and the usual email protocols.
MAXER’s hosting plans also include:
- Automated daily, weekly, and monthly backups
- SSH access
- DDoS protection
In addition to the standard hosting plans, MAXER also provides email hosting, reseller hosting, SSD VPS, cloud VPS plans, and CMS hosting for WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal.
Although the individual hosting plan pages specify a low 99.9% uptime, another page on the MAXER website states “Our availability results from previous years: around 99.99%” which is not bad at all.
Pricing and Support
MAXER’s shared hosting plans are payable yearly in Hungarian forint. Although they’re not the cheapest plans, the prices are competitive, but you have to factor in an additional 27% VAT.
You can reach out to MAXER’s customer support staff by telephone (during business hours on weekdays) or by email. There is an online form to report errors, and existing customers can also log in to the control center. Although MAXER claims to offer non-stop customer service via email, I found that my exploratory email went unanswered. Admittedly, I’m not a fully signed-up customer.
To help you support yourself, MAXER provides a knowledge base and a not-recently-updated blog:
