LowcHost has been providing affordable website hosting solutions since 2015. Their focus is primarily on an Israeli customer base, and they presently host over 1,000 websites. Their shared hosting services are great for those looking for a host with strong security. If you plan to host a WordPress website, their WordPress hosting plans may be a better value than their standard hosting.
Features and Ease of Use
LowcHost offers a variety of shared hosting plans with solid features that are suitable for personal and small business websites. Check out the basic features available on all plans:
- SSD storage
- Unlimited domains
- Unlimited bandwidth
- Softaculous auto-installer
- Unlimited databases
Their basic features are above average for the Israeli market: few providers would offer SSD storage, unlimited add-on domains, and unlimited traffic on Israel-based servers. You likely won’t be able to host multiple media-heavy websites on anything but their Unlimited package though.
But what really set them apart are their advanced features. All plans come with a 99.9% uptime guarantee and the following:
- Cloudflare CDN
- Free SSL certificates
- Application firewall
- Daily backups
- Imunify360 protection
In addition to the Cloudflare CDN and an application firewall to both speed up and protect your servers, you get Imunify360 protection that includes intrusion detection, malware protection, and even reputation management that will monitor your website to see if it is on any blacklists. If you’re looking for a host with strong security, this is one to put on your shortlist.
LowcHost makes it easy to build your website using either cPanel access and their Softaculous auto-installer that comes with hundreds of apps, including WordPress. They don’t offer a website builder, so there will be a slight learning curve for beginners.
Pricing and Support
LowcHost offers three primary cloud-based shared hosting plans with the features listed above. Besides pricing, the only differences in plans are in storage, processors, and memory as defined below:
Beginners | WordPress | Unlimited
Storage | 1.5GB SSD | 3GB SSD | Unlimited SSD |
Number of Processors | 1 x 2.6GHz Intel E5 | 2 x 2.6GHz Intel E5 | 2 x 2.6GHz Intel E5 |
Memory | 1GB | Flash Memory | Flash Memory |
I’m not a fan of the amount of storage on either the Beginners or the WordPress plan. The Unlimited plan is much better for those hosting multiple websites. Also, the Unlimited plan offers a private IP address for free.
These plans are very reasonably priced, especially considering you get free Comodo SSL certificates. If you plan to use WordPress for your domain, check out LowcHost’s WordPress hosting packages. Here’s a breakdown of their plans:
Beginners | Advanced | Professional
Storage | 5GB | 10GB | Unlimited |
Number of Hosted Sites | 1 | 2 | 3 |
Number of Processors | 1 x 2.6GHz Intel E5 | 1 x 2.6GHz Intel E5 | 2 x 2.6GHz Intel E5 |
Memory | 1GB | Flash | 3GB |
It’s a bit peculiar that these plans offer more storage compared to their standard hosting, but it’s more than enough for most websites. Plus, these plans are quite budget-friendly, with the Beginners and Professional plans being cheaper than the equivalent Cloud-based shared hosting plans. However, the Advanced WordPress plan is slightly more expensive than its Cloud counterpart. The best part is that all plans come with a 30-day money back guarantee.
Support for these products is somewhat lacking. They only offer an online contact form and Tawk.to messaging. There’s a knowledge base, but it’s not as comprehensive as I’d like and will likely only answer your most basic questions. Phone support and live chat would improve their support dramatically.
