According to its Facebook business account, Lithuania-based web hosting company, Lava VPS was launched in June 2015. Just like its name hints, the hosting firm was started with a mission to offer server solutions (VPS and dedicated servers) and at very low costs to businesses across the globe.
It also registers top-level domains (TLDs) as well as offering free VPN services and SSL certificates. While the Lava VPS website is available in English, some parts are in Lithuanian.
Features and Ease of Use
Lava VPS website services incorporate the following standard features:
- Unlimited bandwidth
- Free static IPv4 addresses
- VPS management
- Full SSH access
- Linux OS selection
- Free VPN server
Lava VPS services are suitable for consumers from all over the world as they get to choose their preferred server locations, including the United States, Canada, France, and Poland. The hosting provider pledges to bring more VPS locations in the future, so as to provide a range of hosting locations closer to your business’ physical location.
Its VPS servers run on powerful Intel Xeon processors with ultra-fast SSD drives and DDR3 server memory (RAM), and also come with a user-friendly control panel for easier setup and management of server resources.
Moreover, the virtual machines are equipped with OpenVZ virtualization technology and offer a choice of 52 different Linux OS selections.
None of this vendor’s hosting plans include free SSL certificates. Luckily, the hosting company provides SSL certificates but at an extra cost. All the same, although Lava VPS server solutions seem to include backup services, the backup options are not quite clear, so before you make a purchase order, it would be advisable for potential customers to contact the vendor and get more information.
Pricing and Support
Our Lava VPS server solutions come at an affordable price, and we offer discounts ranging between 5% and 10% for semi-annual and annual orders, respectively. You can conveniently purchase our hosting services with month-to-month payment options. All prices are listed in euros.
Customers can terminate their contracts within 30 days of their first purchase, in which case the vendor will refund you for the unused services. All the same, the hosting provider does not seem to commit to an uptime network guarantee.
If you have any pre-sales questions, you can contact the vendor via a contact form available on its website. Also, clients can get in touch with the vendor’s support team via telephone and email (although the email address is only listed on its Facebook account). That said, the company has no live chat or ticketing system.
Disappointingly, my email query to this vendor’s support team went unanswered.
Self-support resources include a knowledge base section with several articles and tutorials.
