Intrex hosting is managed by Budapest-based Versanus Ltd., which was founded in 2004. This host offers cPanel hosting, VPS, domain registration, and SSL certificates form its Hungarian website.
Features and Ease of Use
This provider offers six cPanel shared hosting plans and six VPS plans, each with HDD and SSD variants. The cPanel hosting plans provide you with:
- 1 GB to 10 GB HDD/SSD disk space
- 1 to 10 hosted domains and unlimited subdomains
- WebAdmin interface
- 5 to 30 email accounts with unlimited email aliases
- 2 x 1 Gbps bandwidth
- Unlimited data traffic
- PHP and MySQL
- Custom error page
The FTP access allows you to upload web files easily, and the custom error page means you can try to keep hold of your customers and other website visitors by serving them something more meaningful than an HTTP 404 (not found) error page.
As an alternative to shared hosting, the Xen-based virtual servers (VPS) are managed via the SolusVM administration interface. You also get SSH/root access for secure, complete control of your server.
Pricing and Support
The cPanel shared hosting plans come at competitive prices in Hungarian forints, with the SSD plans naturally being more expensive than the HDD plans. However, you can’t directly purchase the plans; you’ll need to fill out an order form, print it, and then sign it.
This is not that way that most hosts work these days, and there is no money-back guarantee (as far as I can see) to incentive you to sign up. Paid add-ons at the checkout include DNS setup, data recovery, additional storage, a unique IP address, email setup, and admin support.
The Intrex customer support team can be contacted by telephone, email, or online form. Unfortunately, my exploratory email received no reply. To make matters worse, there are no self-support resources (such as a knowledge base) as far as I can see.
