internex is a German based hosting provider which was founded in 2005. With more than 80,000 customers and 200,000 websites hosted, the core of its customer base is in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, however, the company does have customers from around the world. The website is available in German.
Features and Ease of Use
internex offers a full range of hosting services, with these core features:
- 999% availability guarantee
- Regular data backup
- Free domain registration
- Multi domain compatibility in some plans
- SSL encryption
- 2GB to 20GB storage space
- Unlimited traffic
Although, internex does not own its own data center, it does own all of the servers and network equipment, and as such, is not a reseller. The servers are located in multiple worldwide data centers, including five in South America, ten in North America, twenty-two in Europe, fourteen in Asia, one in Australia, and one in Africa. Locations are as far and wide as Buenos Aires, New York, Bangkok, and Johannesburg.
The servers use SSD for faster disk read/write speeds and RAID 5 to prevent loss due to hard disk crashes, with redundant connection and redundant power supplies. Branded hardware such as Juniper and Cisco are used.
Although I can’t see it in the terms and conditions, the website does advertise a 99.99% uptime guarantee, which is very high. I contacted support to confirm its uptime guarantee. I was advised that plans and the corresponding SLAs are tailor made upon application.

Support is available 24/7/365 by phone, email, and it does mention live chat however I could not get the link to open. Each department, such as sales, technical help, billing, and even emergency contact, has its own set of contact details. It surprises me that the knowledge base is relatively small, considering the wealth of information available on the website.
