Mark Holden Written by: Mark Holden

Brazil-based InfoLink provides competitively priced hosting plans and associated services, some of which are in a state of flux while it migrates to Skymail.

Overview

infolink main1
With more than twenty years of experience in hosting, corporate email, cloud computing, and security solutions, InfoLink has the confidence that comes from forging partnerships with the world’s leading I.T. companies including Dell, Microsoft, VMware, Idera, Sophos, and ALOG/Equinix.

InfoLink offers a selection of services including web hosting, cloud servers, and virtual data centers, plus domain services, corporate email, email marketing, FTP, and much more besides. However, some of these services are set to be discontinued (FTP and email marketing) or transferred (corporate email moving to Skymail).

InfoLink’s website is in Portuguese.

Features and Ease of Use

infolink 1

InfoLink offers four shared hosting plans that come in Linux and Windows variants with the following features:

  • 99.9% uptime guarantee
  • Unlimited web space and additional domains
  • One FTP account
  • SSH access (on Linux)
  • MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL databases
  • SQL Server databases (optional, on Windows)
  • POP, IMAP, and SMTP email
  • PHP, Perl, and CGI
  • Task scheduling
  • Customizable webmail
  • Shared SSL and SFTP
  • Daily backups
  • Free backup restoration for the first month
  • Anti-spam and antivirus

InfoLink offers a one-click app installer that you can use to install and activate many popular apps including Drupal, Joomla, WordPress, Magento, osTicket, Moodle, SugarCRM, and MediaWiki. Alternatively, you can manage your web content by using WebFTP via your browser to create directories, upload, download, and move files.

If you need to create a website from scratch, and you don’t have the necessary skills, you can use the free website builder that comes with more than a hundred ready-to-use templates. If all else fails, you can pay InfoLink’s professionals to produce a website for you.

In addition to web hosting, InfoLink provides cloud servers, cloud backup, and data center plans. The cloud servers offer a VPN feature that enables administrative access through specific server ports.

Pricing and Support

infolink 2

InfoLink’s shared hosting plans are priced competitively in Brazilian real. You can be billed on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis, with discounts of between 3% and 12% depending on the term you choose.

InfoLink’s 24/7 customer support can be reached via telephone, ticket system, email, contact form or Skype. When I attempted to email InfoLink, I was advised to contact Skymail via Skype, who did reply.

For self-support, you’ll be pleased to see the plethora of articles in InfoLink’s Wiki (which is a knowledge base in all but name).

InfoLink REVIEW: BOTTOM LINE

InfoLink could be the host for you if you’re looking for competitive Brazilian hosting plans. My only caveat would be to wait until the move to Skymail has been completed (maybe by the time you read this) before making a commitment.

Pros

  • 20+ years of industry experience
  • Competitive pricing
  • Free website migration
  • Lots of customer support options

Cons

  • Some services to be discontinued
  • The company is currently migrating to Skymail
