According to its Dutch-language website, Netherlands-based hosting provider HostingWalk has “a focus on innovation and personal service.” This business has been in business for six years.
Features and Ease of Use
HostingWalk offers a range of hosting services that come with these features:
- 99.9% uptime guarantee
- Acronis backups
- Domain registration available
- Free SSL certificates
- Up to 100 GB SSD disk space
- Unlimited data traffic
With HostingWalk, you can choose a WordPress plan or a DirectAdmin package, with the WordPress option being the more natural choice for a new webmaster. This said, the WordPress plan provides experts with PHP (versions 5.6 up to the far faster version 7.2), Cron jobs (to schedule regular scripts), and SSH access (for secure control of your server).
You also get SSD storage and several additional performance-enhancing features such as Varnish Cache, Redis Cache, and Apache.
HostingWalk proudly claims that its Amsterdam data center ranks among the world’s most sustainable ones. They use groundwater to cool the air instead of relying on mechanical cooling.
Pricing and Support
HostingWalk’s hosting prices are high, which can only partly be accounted for by the fact that they are WordPress plans rather than simple shared hosting. You get free website migration and an SSL certificate for free, but you have to pay for a domain name. You can also pay extra for the Weebly website builder and SpamExperts security at the checkout. Available billing cycles are monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual, but not on the lowest plan.
HostingWalk provides support up to 8 pm via multiple channels: live chat, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Twitter, but there is no support telephone number as far as I know. A live chat agent answered me immediately in English (which is good) but began to question my motives (which was not so good):
