Relatively new to the market, HostCupid is an India-based web hosting provider. It offers shared hosting (Windows and Linux), reseller hosting (Windows and Linux), VPS (virtual private server) hosting (Linux only), and domain registration. All its services are delivered through its data center in Germany.
Even though the HostCupid website has a professional layout, it still lacks some information as it’s still under development. The website is available in more than 20 languages, including English, French, and German. You can choose to have the prices displayed in either US dollars or Indian rupees.
Features and Ease of Use
HostCupid offers shared hosting for both Windows and Linux. Three plans are available for each operating system. The Linux plans are Lite, Swift, and Pro, while the Windows plans are Basic, Premium, and Pro.
The Linux plans vary mainly in storage, the number of hosted websites, RAM, and number of MySQL databases. All plans come with unlimited bandwidth and the following common features:
- cPanel
- Softaculous
- SSH access
- Cron jobs
- 99% uptime guarantee
- Free SSL certificate
- Free weekly backups
- Free domain (first year of annual contracts)
While the Windows plans share a lot of the above features, they differ in the number of hosted websites, MSSQL databases, MySQL databases, monthly bandwidth, and a few other features. All Windows packages come with unlimited storage, Plesk control panel, and a built-in software installer.
Both cPanel and Plesk control panels share a highly user-friendly management interface that allows you to easily take control over all aspects of your website. This includes managing website files, domains, backup intervals, FTP accounts, databases, and much more.
I particularly like the Linux Softaculous installer, which is known for its ease of use and the large number of supported CMS (content management system) applications and scripts. With a single click, you can install all your favorite apps, including WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, PrestaShop, OpenCart, TYPO3, phpBB, and hundreds more.
Plesk has its own built-in installer that is almost as easy to use as Softaculous but supports slightly fewer applications and scripts.
Pricing and Support
HostCupid offers remarkably affordable prices across the board. You have the flexibility to select monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annual billing cycles according to your preference.
Most of HostCupid’s services are backed by a seven-day money-back guarantee, and you can pay only via Razorpay.
I was disappointed to discover that it has no knowledge base, tutorials, or FAQ section.
You can contact customer support via live chat, phone, email, or support ticket. I tried contacting the live chat, but no one was there to help me, so I sent all my questions through email. After 24 hours, I received a reply with all my questions answered.
Remote support via AnyDesk is also available.
