Features and Ease of Use
HostCab is a full-service web hosting provider. They provide shared hosting, cloud hosting, reseller hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated hosting, and Windows hosting. They also provide add-ons such as SSL certificates and domain registration.
Their packages include the following features as standard:
- 99.9% guaranteed uptime
- Data is backed up daily, weekly, and monthly
- Host a single domain to unlimited domains per account, depending on package
- Free lifetime Comodo Positive SSL certificate with highest-tier package
- Free lifetime domain with higher-tier packages
- One-click installer
HostCab has got lots of great features for beginners. Like other companies, they include a one-click installer. However, they also have some added extras such as the cPanel demo, which is great. What’s more, once you’re inside cPanel it’s extremely user-friendly. It’s simply and cleanly laid out so that most website owners, even beginners, can start using cPanel effectively right away.
Pricing and Support
HostCab’s prices are very competitive by local and international standards. They offer small and extremely affordable packages all the way to plans with unlimited domains, disk space, and bandwidth at a reasonable monthly price.
They also offer promotions to encourage you to sign up for a longer term. Their standard price is for one month; however, if you go for a longer contract, you’ll get a steep discount on the monthly rate. Other promotions include a free lifetime domain and Positive Comodo SSL certificate when you purchase the highest-tier package. Unfortunately, this also means that lower-tier packages don’t include free SSL certificates (not even shared ones) or a free domain registration, so what you save in hosting fees you may be paying up in domain registration and SSL certificate charges.
Billing terms range from a no-obligation monthly contract to quarterly, semi-annual, annual, biennial, and triennial periods. There’s a 14-day free trial along with a 30-day money back guarantee.
They offer 24/7/365 technical support, which is excellent. This is via live chat, email, ticket, or telephone. They offer a Canadian telephone number as well as a number for international callers. While they do have a knowledge base on their website, there’s no information available in it, which is a shame. Unfortunately, whenever I tried to contact them via live chat, I always received an offline message. However, when I contacted them via Facebook Messenger, they picked up quickly and answered my questions politely.
I also appreciated the helpful feature in cPanel where they provide links to various tools, many of which are beneficial for beginners. One of these tools is the Divi drag-and-drop builder, which comes at an additional cost but is an excellent resource for new website developers. Additionally, there’s an option to directly purchase WordPress themes through cPanel.
