HostZealot has four shared hosting plans to choose from – Observer, Scout, Corvette, and Carrier. When you sign up, you can expect the following standard features on all plans:
- 99.9% uptime guarantee
- cPanel
- Free applications
- FTP accounts
- Server-side virus filtering
- Free email and webmail boxes
HostZealot also offers many features that work well for advanced webmasters and developers, such as:
- Support for PHP 5+, cURL, Perl 5+, Zend, Image Magick, GD, and more
- SSL support
- SSH access
- TCL and Python
- Cron Jobs
- AwStats
- Apache Handlers
HostZealot doesn’t have a ‘point and click’ website builder, so it isn’t suitable if you are looking for Wix-style hosting. However, it offers installation apps for WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, phpBB, and other platforms. So, if you’re familiar with setting up sites on those platforms, it may be ok.
Otherwise, the HostZealot platform is suitable for a web designer familiar with using cPanel and FTP to build websites. It allows you to code in web programming and scripting languages, such as PHP 5+, Perl 5+, etc.
This host doesn’t provide free automated backups. However, you can set backups for free on all plans from cPanel.
The disk space on the HostZealot plans is somewhat limited (from 1 GB to 100 GB), but it should be enough for a small website or small business. If you max out your domains on Scout or above, you may run into storage issues.
The Observer plan offers 100 GB of bandwidth, while the Scout plan provides 300 GB. On the other hand, the Corvette and Carrier packages include 1 TB and 2 TB of bandwidth, respectively, which is more than sufficient for any website requirements.
