Is HITROST.COM the best web hosting company? I can’t say yes to that as this company doesn’t top our best five web hosting companies, and you’ll see why.
HITROST.COM is a hosting company located in Jesenice, Slovenia. It caters to small and medium-sized businesses with web hosting, Virtual Private Server (VPS), reseller hosting, SSL certificates, and domain registration.
Features and Ease of Use
HITROST.COM offers four web hosting plans with the following features:
- Daily automatic backups
- Free SSL certificates
- Between one to 15 domains
- Anywhere from 3GB to 20GB storage
There are some spectacular features that I can’t fail to mention. One is its backups that have 120 recovery points that you can choose from if your website suddenly breaks or looks funny. Another feature is its bandwidth. This company offers up to 70 MB/s.
The company uses solid state disks paired with Intel Xeon processors for top of the range performance. Plus, the storage disks are in RAID 10 configuration – good for speed, while protecting data in the case of hardware failure.
For beginners, HITROST.COM provides the DirectAdmin control panel, which is pretty straightforward and easy to use. It’s also great for experienced users. Furthermore, there’s a one-click installer and a website builder available. Experienced users can also use FTP and SSH to do anything they want for their website. Plus, it supports PHP, Node.js, and Python.
Network security stands as a crucial priority. If malware infiltrates or if DDoS attacks occur, they can cripple your website and servers. Understanding this, HITROST.COM offers solutions such as the Next Generation Firewall and DDoS protection to safeguard against such threats.
Pricing and Support
HITROST.COM’s introductory prices are cheap and quite appropriate for the features on offer. However, on renewal the next year, they go very high and become expensive, especially when compared to similar plans from its competitors. The introductory rates for the VPS plans are different, as well.
Also, be aware that for the shared hosting, the introductory rates for one year are quite cheap but the one-month hosting prices aren’t. Plus, when I tried ordering, I noticed that domain registration isn’t free and there’s no promise of refunds in its terms of service.
Customer support is available through a knowledge base, phone (between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Mondays to Fridays) and email (24/7). I tried the email option, but didn’t get a reply.
