HappyByte Offers a Decent Hosting Experience at a Decent Price
Do you need a good hosting provider that can reach your European audience but don’t have the biggest budget? Is speed, scalability, and security a priority when it comes to your ideal hosting provider? HappyByte.gr might just have what you need.
HappyByte offers shared hosting, WordPress hosting, semi-dedicated hosting, and reseller hosting with both cPanel and Plesk options. It’s safe to assume that the bulk of its customers are WordPress clients if the amount of blog posts and tutorials devoted to the platform is any indication.
HappyByte’s three biggest selling points are its unlimited resources, attention to site and server security, and its customer support team. One caveat to using HappyByte’s web hosting: it’s based in Greece, and the website, social media accounts – and yes, even customer service – are all in Greek. Don’t let that discourage you from reading on, however, as Google Translate is always ready to assist you.
Features and Ease of Use
HappyByte offers a wide range of features at fairly affordable prices, including unlimited resources and free website and email transfers. In that respect, it’s right up there with some of our top hosts in 2024.
Unlimited resources from a budget-priced host aren’t completely unheard of, but they aren’t your everyday offerings, either. HappyByte’s inclusion of unlimited bandwidth, email accounts, and MySQL databases across all plans makes this host a good bargain.
Some other notable features include:
- SSD storage and advanced caching for improved performance
- Easy-to-use cPanel and Plesk and one-click installation of popular apps like WordPress
- Scalable hosting plans to accommodate growing websites
- Security measures including DDoS protection, malware scanning, advanced firewall, and daily data backups
What you’ll get with a HappyByte web hosting plan is an easy and efficient hosting experience, with enough resources and scalability to ensure that your site can remain a customer favorite for a long time to come.

Support
HappyByte’s customer support has a good reputation for responsiveness and helpfulness. You can contact the support team by live chat, phone, email, or a support ticket.
According to the website, support tickets are the fastest and easiest way to get technical help. I didn’t need technical assistance, though, so I tried the email option. I couldn’t find information anywhere on the website about the location of HappyByte’s data center(s). And since that’s a very important consideration for our web hosting reviews, I needed to know.
The support team took over 18 hours to respond, but I considered the time difference and a possible language issue, as well. The response was polite and professional, and it answered my question without any of the salesy stuff I often get from other support teams. All in all, I was pleased and a bit impressed.
Pricing
When it comes to pricing, HappyByte’s website spells everything out in simple terms on easy-to-navigate pages. You have three shared hosting plans to choose from: Webmaster, Freelancer, and Business. All are reasonably priced for the value they offer.
There are a couple of advantages to the two higher-priced plans. If you want to set up multiple sites, you can create up to 5 on the Freelancer plan and an unlimited number on the Business plan. You’ll also get more resources: Freelancer offers 3 GB of RAM and 2 GB of email storage per account, while Business includes 4 GB of RAM and 3 GB per email account.
However, If you don’t need all those resources, the Webmaster plan starts at $2.99 and offers 2 GB RAM and 1 GB email account storage, which is enough to get your personal or small business site up and running.
HappyByte offers a variety of ways to pay. You can choose a bank transfer, credit or debit card payment through Stripe, or use PayPal. The 60-day money-back guarantee doubles what most hosting providers offer, giving you plenty of time to try the service and see if it’s a good fit for your site.
