FC.PL (Future Communications) has been in operation for over 13 years with shared, reseller, dedicated hosting, and domain registration as its primary service. Its website is available in Polish only but you can get support in English. Its servers are located in Nuremberg and Falkenstein, Germany.
Features and Ease of Use
FC.PL offers shared hosting with four plans that feature storage space from 2000MB. Its features are suitable for small business websites and medium-sized E-commerce start-ups. These are its other features:
- 99.9% uptime SLA
- Daily automatic backups
- Free .pl domain
- Storage space from 2000MB to 20000MB
- From 168GB to an unlimited Bandwidth
I like that its uptime is backed by an SLA. If you record uptime of 98%-99%, you’re entitled to 20% hosting credit. 96%-97% gives a 30% discount; 95%-96% is a 50% discount, and anything below that is a full refund of the entire month’s hosting cost (this is correct as of the writing of this review).
The company goes beyond just keeping websites online to providing beginner-friendly tools. It comes with Fantastico as its one-click installer for easy installation of scripts and CMSes such as WordPress and Joomla.
If you’re new to the whole web hosting environment, you shouldn’t find it hard to set up your preferred tool. However, the company doesn’t provide a website builder.
FC.PL features the cPanel management tool, which is user-friendly. You can manage your applications, databases, email accounts, and set up automated tasks through it. For automated tasks, FC.PL allows customers to use Cron.
If you need to program your website, you can use PHP and Perl, but the company doesn’t support Python. Databases are SQL and unlimited, and the management tools are PHPMyAdmin and phpPgAdmin.
Pricing and Support
The subscription periods start from one month. You can also pay for three months, six months, and one year.
FC.PL offers fair prices for the features that it offers. They are not the lowest you’ll get in the market for quality service, but they are not overly expensive either when compared to the features on offer.
Keep in mind that it does not offer a free trial or money-back guarantee. It also doesn’t offer SSL certificates, so you’d need to install it from a third party service and pay the additional cost of purchasing it. On the plus side, you get a free .pl domain.
You can contact FC.PL through phone and email. There’s also support tickets from the customer area. Its knowledge base is basically an FAQ that covers general technical issues.
I submitted a ticket and wrote in English, and received a response in less than 30 minutes in English.
