eHosting Chile is a Visual Chile company. It brings more than 15 years of experience to the hosting scene, and it sells shared hosting, reseller hosting, email services, and housing solutions. This provider’s poorly designed Spanish-language website has a few broken links that include the “Support” link.
Features and Ease of Use
eHosting Chile offers Linux and Windows shared hosting, with each operating system being offered at four subscription levels. The hosting plans have the following features in common:
- Unlimited data transfer
- Control panel
- Antispam
- PHP support
- CGI
- Perl 4 and 5
- Free authorization
The Linux shared hosting plans start at the Basic subscription (with 1,000 MB disk space) and go up to the Full Company package (with 5 GB disk space). The Windows shared hosting plans range from SME (with 50 MB disk space) up to Full Company (with 1 GB disk space).
Although all shared hosting accounts offer unlimited traffic, a control panel, and bare-bones programming features (such as support for PHP, MySQL, Perl, and CGI), I’m not overly impressed with the features and resources. However, the Linux reseller hosting accounts come with free activation, cPanel control panel, backups, unlimited domains/subdomains, and a whole lot more.
Pricing and Support
Compared with more versatile vendors in the Chilean hosting market, eHosting Chile’s prices are high for the few features and low storage space. On all but the Full Company plan, Windows hosting is more expensive than Linux hosting, but this is not at all unusual. All plans are price are in Chilean pesos and are billed on an annual basis.
Customer support options are limited. You can contact the company via telephone, ticket, or email, but support is not 24/7, and (unfortunately) they didn’t respond to my exploratory email. Publicly available self-support resources seem to be limited to some email setup tutorials.
