Overview

eglueweb main1

Indian web solutions provider eGlueWeb offers a wide variety of hosting services (shared, reseller, VPS, and dedicated servers) along with domain name registration, SSL certificates, and spam filter. This provider has been a part of the web hosting landscape for more than nine years, and its managers have many more years of experience between them.

Tier 4 datacenters hold your data in the kind of secure environment that you would expect to find for a major financial institution. Services are offered to international clients from eGlueWeb’s English language website.

Features and Ease of Use

eGlueWeb provides a total of seven shared hosting plans, including four for Linux and three for Windows. Additionally, they offer seven reseller hosting plans (four for Linux and three for Windows), six managed cloud VPS plans (three for each operating system), and eight dedicated hosting plans (four for Linux and four for Windows). With the Linux shared plans, you get:

  • 99.9% server uptime
  • 1 GB to 20 GB disk space
  • 10 GB to 2 TB bandwidth
  • One to unlimited domains
  • 10 to unlimited MySQL databases
  • 100 to unlimited emails
  • PHP4/PHP5/PHP6 support with Zend and eAccelerator support
  • Python, Ruby, cURL, CGI, and Perl
  • Cron jobs

You need no technical knowledge to create your website with eGlue because it provides a website builder. Alternatively, you can install several popular e-commerce shopping cart solutions (such as osCommerce, Zen Cart, CubeCart, and AgoraCart) or CMS applications (such as WordPress, Drupal, or Magento). At the other end of the expertise spectrum, SSH access affords you complete control of your hosting environment.

The SSD storage is faster and more reliable than traditional HDD storage, and in the event of a data disaster, the free remote backups should surely come in handy.

Pricing and Support

eGlueWeb support i 1

Priced in U.S. dollars and Indian rupees, eGlueWeb’s shared hosting plans are inexpensive. Billing cycles range from monthly to triennial, with a one-time setup fee for monthly billing. If you’re tempted to take the plunge and opt for a longer billing cycle, you’ll be pleased to learn of the 15-day money-back guarantee that should get you out if anything goes wrong within the first two weeks, although this is shorter than the 30-day refund window offered by many other hosts.

eGlueWeb’s 24/7 customer support can be accessed via telephone, ticket, email, online contact form, or live chat. Although I was asked to send some of my questions to more technical staff via email, I was pleased with the live chat support I received.

Anyone seeking self-help resources will see that this company’s blog contains only two entries, and its knowledge base is non-existent.

eGlueWeb REVIEW: BOTTOM LINE

If you’re looking for a wide variety of feature-rich, inexpensive hosting plans backed by superior customer support, you could give eGlueWeb a go. It’s not all good, however, since monthly billing incurs a setup fee and the knowledge base is bare.

eGlueWeb might offer a good service at a reasonable price, but does it match up with the top web hosting companies? We find it hard to say “yes.”

Pros

  • 9+ years of industry experience
  • Inexpensive plans
  • 15-day money-back guarantee
  • SSD storage

Cons

  • One-time setup fee for monthly billing
  • The knowledge base is bare
