Since 2016, Domain-Offensive.de has served more than 10,000 customers with over 170,000 domains. It started as a domain provider, but now it also offers hosting and SSL certificates. Its website is available in German only, but it also offers support in English. Its servers are located in Hamburg, Germany.
Features and Ease of Use
Shared web hosting and reseller hosting are the only hosting products that this web host offers. The shared hosting comes in four plans offering varying features and price points, and works with FlexiSpace. FlexiSpace helps you automatically add storage space to yours when you exceed the limit provided in your plan. You get a notification of this and are charged the added fee on your next billing cycle.
Some of the other features of the shared hosting include:
- 99% uptime
- Let’s Encrypt SSL
- One to 25 domains on one account, depending on the plan
- 1GB, 10 GB, 25GB, or 50GB storage space
The storage is on Solid State Drives (SSD) which offers high-speed performance and fast read and write speeds, up to four times faster than hard drives. You also benefit from a more reliable and stable system that SSD provides, and it’s better for the environment too. This web host also plants trees for each customer, with the number depending on the plan you take.
Domain-Offensive.de offers Parallels Confixx control panel to its customers to manage hosting. It’s pretty simple to use, plus the vendor has provided tutorials to help customers handle tasks like cron jobs and FTP on it.
The company doesn’t offer an installer. If you plan to use web applications like PrestaShop and WordPress, take the Premium hosting plan and above. On those, it installs CMSes for you free, so you don’t have to deal with database settings and other technicalities.
This web host supports a plethora of programming tools and languages, including PHP, Python, Perl, and CGI. For database and management, it provides MySQL and PHPMyAdmin.
Pricing and Support
Domain-Offensive.de isn’t really low-cost hosting. It offers four shared hosting plans that lean more towards mid-range hosting pricing than low-cost. However, if you don’t want to drain your pockets, you should take the 12-month hosting plan; it becomes quite expensive if you choose to pay for a monthly subscription period instead, due to an extra “facility” charge.
It offers domain registration as well for a reasonable cost, which you can purchase while buying hosting to avoid having to direct your domain.
All payments are secured, and you can choose to pay with PayPal, Sofortüberweisung, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
If you’re still considering your options, you can sign up and try it risk-free. If you’re not happy within one month, just let Domain-Offensive.de know, and they’ll refund your money.
Domain-Offensive.de provides support through phone, live chat, and ticketing system. It’s not 24/7, though, so you should try between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Monday to Friday if you want an immediate response. There’s also an extensive knowledge base with helpful tutorials.
My discussion with the support was through the live chat. I wanted clarification on the “facility” fee and to find out how to connect my domain. I’m familiar with changing DNS records through nameservers and couldn’t figure out the method that this vendor offers. Franziska Steffen from Domain-Offensive.de was helpful in directing me through the process of connecting my domain.
