Dataflame is a U.K. based hosting company that was in business independently until 2015 when Paragon Internet Group bought it. That group owns a huge selection of hosting companies including tsoHost, Vidahost, Evohosting, 5quidhost, and Hostroute. Paragon Internet Group is owned by Host Europe Group.
Dataflame has merged with tsoHost for existing customers to access their accounts and new customers are now registered under tsoHost. It offers dedicated servers, VPS, WordPress hosting, and shared hosting. It serves over 250,000 customers and operates its own data center in the U.K.
Features and Ease of Use
If you own a startup, an established business, or an E-commerce store, you might like the three cPanel and cloud hosting plans that tsoHost has developed. With them, you get free migration of your current website (if you have one), which means that they’ll handle the migration themselves. Some of the other features include:
- 99.9% uptime SLA
- Automatic daily backups
- Let’s Encrypt SSL
- Free domain registration
- Unlimited bandwidth
- Three, eight, or twenty hosted domains
tsoHost uptime SLA promises that for any drop in uptime below 99.9%, you’re entitled to a credit of a full week’s cost of hosting provided that you request the credit. However, if your hosting fees are overdue or you just paid an overdue fee, you’re not entitled to this refund.
While the cPanel plans offer you cPanel, the cloud hosting plans come with a custom control panel. Another difference that cloud hosting has compared to the cPanel plans is that the resources are not contained within a single server. Instead, it draws on resources from multiple servers in its center. As a result, you enjoy a higher availability and incredible scalability.
Also, you can host both Windows and Linux websites on the cloud plans but only Linux on cPanel. Other resources are similar, though. For example, it offers one-click application installers on both. With those, you can set up WordPress and more than 25 other applications easily.
Pricing and Support
Despite the additional features on cloud hosting, both the cPanel and cloud packages are offered at the same prices. They are low cost and allow you to buy hosting for one month at a time.
They don’t provide a free trial, but they do offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all cPanel and cloud hosting packages. If you’re dissatisfied with the service and want a refund, you need to cancel your plan through your account section and then send an email to support within 30 days of your purchase.
The customer support is available 24/7 through ticket. Alternatively, there’s a live chat and telephone customer service from 7:00 AM until midnight GMT +1. I used the live chat to chat with a customer service representative who responded to me clearly.
Tsohost has some online help material as well, so you solve some technical problems on your own.
How much does Dataflame cost?
Dataflame offers plans from $5.19 to $19.49. The price depends on which type of hosting plan you choose. You can see the updated pricing table (updated weekly) below.
Which Dataflame plan should I get?
My recommendation is to start with a cheaper plan. You can always upgrade later on. Dataflame can help you with the migration to a more expensive plan. The increase in visitors many times takes longer than expected and you shouldn’t pay a lot of money until the need arises. Of course, your needs may vary, and you can consult with a hosting expert from Dataflame.
How good is Dataflame’s customer support?
Dataflame is not ranked as one of our top web hosts. But that can also be a result of Dataflame being a small, under the radar, hosting provider. There are advantages to a small hosting company – as a customer, you are more important to them. You can also check out our comparison of the most popular web hosting services here.
