Cybex Hosting is an Indian website hosting and website solutions provider that was founded in 2011. Their global customers are serviced from offices in multiple worldwide locations including India, Dubai, and Canada. Their informative website is available in English, as is their support.
Features and Ease of Use
Cybex Hosting offers a very wide range of services including shared hosting, reseller hosting, dedicated server hosting, and other website solutions such as website design, marketing, and search engine optimization services. Let’s focus on on the shared hosting that offers the following core features:
- 99.95% uptime backed by SLA
- Automatic daily local backups
- Domain registration available (added cost)
- Free SSL certificate with all plans
- 5GB, 10GB and unlimited disk space
- Unlimited bandwidth on all plans
Whilst Cybex Hosting offers a selection of shared hosting plans – Basic Web Hosting, Business Hosting, Windows SSD Hosting, Joomla and Java Hosting – their most affordable shared hosting plan (and the most suitable plan for everyday users) is the Basic Web Hosting plan that includes three tiers: Starter, Basic and Ultra. The disk spaces are 5GB, 10GB, and unlimited respectively, and all plans come with unlimited bandwidth.
These plans use Linux as their operating system, solid-state drives for reliability and speed, and the user-friendly cPanel control panel. They even throw in a free CloudFlare CDN to sweeten the deal.
All of their shared hosting plans come with some excellent features for beginners. They have a free website builder, premium Softaculous with more than 300 scripts, and a cPanel demo for new users to try before they buy. They also provide free website migration to get you started.
I’m a little surprised that Cybex Hosting doesn’t offer support for advanced coding languages in their shared hosting plans (although they do in their reseller plans). However, they do provide unlimited MySQL databases and add-ons such as integrations with Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools.
Cybex Hosting uses Tier III and Tier IV data centers. Tier III is relatively common nowadays, but the better Tier IV means less than 26.3 minutes of downtime per year. Their use of top quality data centers means they have 99.95% availability backed by a solid service level agreement.
Pricing and Support
Considering the use of Tier III and Tier IV data centers, Cybex Hosting offers very affordable prices. As of now, they are running a 50% discount on the monthly fees, although it remains a bit unclear whether the discount applies upon renewal.
SSL certificates are included in all packages whereas domain registration is an added cost. There are no setup fees. Interestingly, they offer only one-month terms, which – combined with their 7-day free trial and 30-day money-back guarantee – makes this a relatively risk-free proposition.
To get support, you can use email, phone, ticket or hop on live chat. They advertise 24/7 support, but some less urgent requests (sales and billing) are only available between 9.00am and 8.00pm. They have a selection of social media channels, some of which are quite active, a very small knowledge base, and an FAQ section. It’s a very comprehensive range of support options, let down only by the fact that I was left waiting on live chat even when it appeared to be online.
