Crea8Host is headquartered in the United Kingdom and forms part of Leunamme Limited, a design and development company in the U.K. and Nigeria. It serves small businesses, E-commerce businesses, and bloggers in Nigeria and other parts of the world.
Its services also include website and online store development, SSL certificates, and domain registration. It offers Linux shared hosting with a website in English only.
Features and Ease of Use
Crea8Host offers four hosting plans. The only problem is that some features that many hosts offer for free come as paid extras. Customers will enjoy the following resources:
- 99.9% uptime
- Automatic daily backups
- Up to 50GB bandwidth
Crea8Host doesn’t offer free domain registration, rather it’s an add-on cost at checkout if you decide to register your domain through this company. It doesn’t offer free SSL, but offers Comodo and GeoTrust certificates for purchase.
Crea8Host provides support for a plethora of programming tools and languages including PHP, Perl, Python, CGI, Ruby on Rails, and Curl. It also offers unlimited FTP accounts and MySQL databases, regardless of the plan you choose.
If you’d rather work with a CMS, the company supports WordPress, Joomla!, Magento, Drupal, and WiKi. There’s also a one-click installer provided in cPanel, which you can use to install those CMSes and more than 70 other scripts.
I like that it also considered the website building process. SiteBuilder is provided with 4,500 free website templates, which is more than what many web hosts offer.
Pricing and Support
What is particularly nice about Crea8Host is that its prices are incredibly low-cost. It’s geared towards startups and smaller businesses looking to get web hosting at little cost; it also leaves room for growth, as some plans (Gold) can take medium-sized businesses.
Don’t expect the best performance though for these prices. It seems to sacrifice a little in terms of performance, given that it doesn’t use any premium tools for better speed, server performance, and security. There are also no refunds or warranties tied to the uptime. You could get lots of downtime, and the company wouldn’t do anything to compensate you.
It would be better if the vendor offered free domains and SSL certificates. I noticed that it offers domain registration at almost times two the price that most other vendors offer it for. You might be better off purchasing that elsewhere.
There’s no month-to-month plan or free trial. You can opt for annual or biennial hosting contracts, though, at the very least, there is a 30-day money-back guarantee available.
You can contact Crea8Host’s customer support through email, ticket, and a U.K. telephone number. Given that it claims that its primary market is Nigeria, having a U.K. phone number instead of a Nigerian number might serve as a hurdle to customers looking to use phone support due to international tariffs. There is also a live chat link on the top of its webpage, however it did not seem to be functional.
That said, I opened a ticket, but the company never responded to my inquiry. Several customers have expressed the same complaint on the company’s Facebook page. However, they do have a knowledge base and a section with video tutorials.
