CoolHosting is a hosting brand operated by Fortion Networks: a Czech company that has been in the hosting market since 2003. It specializes in shared hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated servers, and domain registration.
CoolHosting’s website is only available in Czech, but it is well-organized and easy to navigate.
Features and Ease of Use
Unlike most web hosting providers, CoolHosting offers only one all-inclusive shared hosting plan. Personally, I prefer to have a variety of plans from which to choose, or a single plan that I can customize to meet my needs. However, the single plan does provide some useful features, including:
- Daily backups
- Cron jobs
- Antivirus and antispam
- AWstats traffic statistics
- Free SSL certificate
- WebPanel control panel
Although I prefer the popular cPanel control panel, you can do many of the same things using the WebPanel control panel – managing domains, email accounts, FTP accounts, and files – via its user-friendly interface.
Since CoolHosting’s servers use the CloudLinux operating system, you are isolated from the effects of other “badly behaved” hosted users, so your resources and performance should be unaffected. The fact that you can use Cron jobs means that you can schedule tasks to run on a regular basis rather than having to execute them manually each time.
Pricing and Support
CoolHosting’s single price plan is affordable, relative to competitors’ offerings, and you can pay for it by GoPay, PayPal, bank transfer, and other methods, on one- or two-year terms.
There are three ways to contact this company for support: telephone, ticket, or email. Unfortunately, my test email and ticket submissions went unanswered. If you have to resort to self-support, you may be similarly disappointed that this vendor has no knowledge base. However, you may be able to glean some useful information from parent company Fortion Networks’ knowledge base.
