CentoHost has offered a wide selection of web hosting services to all kinds of clients since 2002. With its Dell server technology in its own datacenter, this company strives to help clients make most out of their websites.
CentoHost’s bouquet of services includes shared web hosting, reseller web hosting, VPS plans, dedicated servers, and associated services (such as domain registration). This host’s website is in English.
Features and Ease of Use
CentoHost offers four different types of true enterprise-grade SSD shared hosting solutions: Start Hosting, Mini Hosting, Midi Hosting, and Unlimited Hosting. All cPanel shared hosting plans provide you with:
- SLA-backed 99.9% uptime guarantee
- Unmetered bandwidth
- Unlimited MySQL/MariaDB databases
- Unlimited email accounts
- Unlimited subdomains
- CGI/Perl/PHP
- Cron jobs
- SSH access
- 5 GB to unlimited disk space
- 5 to 20 websites
- 2 GB to 8 GB RAM
- Automated daily backups
One of CentoHost’s most notable features is the enterprise-grade SSD storage that ensures higher performance while consuming less power than HDD storage. Secondly, the Softaculous one-click installer helps you install popular apps without technical knowledge.
To alleviate your security concerns, all the shared hosting plans come with a free SSL certificate to create a secure connection between your visitors’ web browser and your website. Free DDoS protection further enhances your website’s stability, and HTTP/2 should ensure faster loading speeds.
CentoHost offers four enterprise-grade reseller web hosting solutions, four different VPS solutions, and two true enterprise-grade dedicated servers to complete their set of services.
Pricing and Support
CentoHost’s shared hosting plans are cheap. You can pay using PayPal, a credit card, or Bitcoin, ostensibly on billing cycles from monthly to triennial, although (confusingly) the terms-of-service page doesn’t mention the multiyear options. Since there is no discount for even an annual commitment, you might as well make monthly payments.
Hosting plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee, subject to deductions for domain registration and some exceptions for special offers.
CentoHost’s 24/7 customer service team can be contacted via telephone, online form, and support ticket. I wasn’t able to access the advertised chat option that invites you to send a message instead. Although my initial message went unanswered, I eventually received the following response:
You should find CentoHost’s well-stocked knowledge base to be very useful if you want to try supporting yourself.
How much does CentoHost cost?
CentoHost offers plans from $2 to $10. The price depends on which type of hosting plan you choose. You can see the updated pricing table (updated weekly) below.
Which CentoHost plan should I get?
My recommendation is to start with a cheaper plan. You can always upgrade later on. CentoHost can help you with the migration to a more expensive plan. The increase in visitors many times takes longer than expected and you shouldn’t pay a lot of money until the need arises. Of course, your needs may vary, and you can consult with a hosting expert from CentoHost.
How good is CentoHost’s customer support?
CentoHost is not ranked as one of our top web hosts. But that can also be a result of CentoHost being a small, under the radar, hosting provider. There are advantages to a small hosting company – as a customer, you are more important to them. You can also check out our comparison of the most popular web hosting services here.
