Russia-based AVANETCO was launched in 2010. It has offices in Russia, China, and Cyprus, and servers in the Netherlands, Germany, the U.S.A., the U.A.E., Kuwait, Qatar, Iran, and Canada. This company specializes in Linux and Windows shared hosting, reseller hosting, VPS hosting, and domain registration.
AVANETCO’s English-language website is informative but basic.
Features and Ease of Use
AVANETCO sells shared hosting subscriptions for Windows and Linux, with four price plans for each operating system, named ByStart, ByStand, ByEnter, and ByPro. The plans vary by bandwidth, storage, databases, and a few other things, but they share the following core features:
- 99.5% uptime guarantee
- RAID 10 storage
- Daily backups
- cPanel control panel for Linux
- Plesk control panel for Windows
- Spam protection
- Firewall protection
The user-friendly control panel for managing your hosting depends on the operating system you pick: cPanel for Linux; Plesk for Windows. Plesk includes its own installer, and cPanel comes with the Softaculous one-click installer that helps you install hundreds of popular applications including WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, and PrestaShop.
If shared hosting doesn’t meet your needs, you have the option to choose from AVANETCO’s four VPS plans. Regardless of the location of your virtual server, the features and prices remain the same for all plans.
Pricing and Support
AVANETCO’s prices are slightly high for the features on offer. I’ve reviewed other hosts that sell more features and resources for the same or lower price. However, you get the first two months for free when you sign up for an annual plan, plus a short 7-day money-back guarantee when you sign up for an annual plan. Pay for your plan via PayPal, WebMoney, Perfect Money, Bitcoin, or Litecoin.
Unfortunately, AVANETCO falls short on customer support. My test ticket went unanswered, the knowledge base is empty, and the forum is not very active:
