Overview

To compare the best web hosts, we hosted the same WordPress website on each one and tested performance, customer service, and value for money. Check out the results here.

AussieHost.com was established in 2007. It seeks to provide top-notch multi-domain hosting from servers based in Australia. The company currently hosts over 11,500 domains. Support and services are offered in English only.

Features and Ease of Use

aussiehost.com-mine1

AussieHost.com uses eco-friendly power with N+1 connectivity in its Sydney-based data centers. With raised floor cooling vents and hot air extraction at the top of each server cabinet, power usage is kept at a minimum. Servers are Intel-powered with four 500GB SATA III drives in RAID10 configuration for maximum I/O speeds and redundancy. All this means is that you’ll have highly reliable and fast servers for your websites.

AussieHost.com’s shared hosting plans feature:

  • Unlimited email accounts
  • Unlimited MySQL databases
  • Instant account activation
  • cPanel

You’ll find relatively fuss-free and versatile packages with AussieHost.com. The entry-level Joey Hosting package affords you hosting for a single domain and lots of value-added features, such as the Softaculous one-click installer, RVsitebuilder, and support for coding languages like PHP, Perl, SSI, and HTML5.

From there onwards, the higher-tier packages offer multi-domain hosting. The main difference with the two higher-tier plans is the amount of storage space you’ll get: 10GB with Kangaroo Hosting and 25GB with Buck Hosting.

What you won’t find with AussieHost.com are free SSL certificates, unfortunately. These have to be purchased separately. AussieHost.com recommends RapidSSL certificates with a 99.9% browser recognition rate, though these also require a dedicated IP address that’ll come at an extra cost.

Pricing and Support

Considering the beginner-friendly features you get, the multi-domain hosting packages come at very affordable prices — though not the cheapest in the market. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time with no penalty; simply contact the AussieHost.com help desk and they’ll handle it for you within minutes.

You can choose to pay monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annually. The longer the plan you choose, the greater the discount. AussieHost.com also has a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you can try out its service at no risk.

aussiehost.com-support

To be honest, I was not impressed with AussieHost.com’s support system. I attempted their live chat several times, but I never received a response. They don’t offer phone support, only ticket-based assistance and the unresponsive live chat. Furthermore, their support is not available round the clock. On the bright side, they do have a knowledge base that can be helpful when you encounter difficulties.

AussieHost.com REVIEW: BOTTOM LINE

AussieHost.com offers excellent beginner-friendly features and pricing, but the poor customer support may be cause for concern. If you’re looking for affordable multi-domain hosting and are okay with taking care of any issues yourself, you may find a home here.

Before you make a decision, we highly recommend you check out some alternative hosting companies, which we highly recommend.

Pros

  • RVsitebuilder for beginners
  • 30-day money-back guarantee
  • Unlimited data transfer with all plans
  • Instant account activation

Cons

  • No free SSL certificates
  • Unresponsive support

Absolutely useless – avoid at all costs

I joined Aussiehost in 2009 when I believe AussieBob actually owned the company. Over the years they have progressively got worse. Support tickets would just go unanswered. Poor performance, shared IP being regularly blacklisted due to poor spam reputation. etc, In December my websites just stopped working and I discovered that they had been transferred to a different (and very over-utilised) server. Long story short, I migrated my web site across to VentraIP and have been very happy with their service, support and price, They were able to provide free SSL certificate so I could migrate my website to https:// Do yourself a favour. Stay away from Aussiehost.com

Poor Customer service when it comes to support

Been with Aussiehost for many years, they were great but recent support tickets have gone unanswered, everything down now for several days, websites, emails, cpanel access, everything. As my renewal is coming up I received an invoice from billing and emailed them - still n o respose, wondering if they have gone out of business.

Utterly useless and no support

My website suddenly died along with all my email accounts. I tried contacting support on several occasions and got no response. Finally moved to new provider who are great. I now keep receiving invoices from them telling me my account will be suspended if I don't pay them. I have tried replying to these emails but just get ignored and more invoice demands coming from them. How do these guys stay in business? Good riddance to them.

Website is not working and I cannot get any proper support from them.

I have sent quite a few emails over the 2 last days. They will not respond to my question but instead send me a reply with what I think is totally irrelevant information. I am not familiar with websites and their terminology and they keep using their terminology that I don't understand. It is urgent that our website should be working at the moment and I am quite disgusted with their service

It has now been resolved, thanks to Vodien.com that persevered for us. There were big problems & AussieHost, the organisation that’s supposed to be supporting us as we were paying them, did not want to acknowledge. I am NOT a website professional & it was an extremely frustrating experience.

Shockingly Bad Support

I've been with Aussie Host for 10 years and until recently they were Ok. Iraised a ticket on October 30, 2021 and it's now November 17, 2021. Still no outcome and answers to my questions about my account and the plan I'm paying for. A review of prices advisertised and what I'm paying for are wildly different. I've emailed several times and have even raised a second ticket. I got an email saying my ticket had been escalated 3 days ago and then nothing. Bob/Aussiehost advertises being the best. ATM AussieHost gets 5 stars for being the worst. In fact I'll give them a 10. Totally shit service. I'm so disappointed after being a loyal customer for a decade.
